By FITSNews || The University of South Carolina has spent more than $376,000 over a seven-year period fighting a losing battle with the University of Southern California¬† – all over an “interlocking SC” logo used by South Carolina’s baseball team.

Additional costs could be forthcoming, as USC has yet to decide whether or not to appeal its latest defeat to the U.S. Supreme Court, according to a school spokeswoman.

The U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal board ruled last year in favor of Southern California in the eight-year dispute – a decision which was upheld last month by the U.S. Court of Appeals.
