The South Carolina press corps is buzzing after S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley’s welfare czarina dissed her health and environmental czarina prior to a press conference last week – an exchange which was captured by several open microphones (but never reported).
“We’re not going to steal the gov’s thunder,” S.C. Department of Social Services (SCDSS) director Lillian [...]
S.C. Rep. Andy Patrick has a lengthy history of trying to steer government business to companies he owns – including “deliberate efforts” to manipulate the state’s procurement codes to benefit himself financially, sources tell FITS.
Patrick is one of several “Republicans in Name Only” seeking the first congressional district seat vacated earlier this year by newly-appointed [...]
Newly-appointed S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) commissioner Catherine Templeton is wasting little time asserting her authority – and spending your tax dollars – at her new $150,000-a-year job.
In addition to creating a $90,000-a-year position (not counting benefits) for S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley’s budget director, Templeton has reportedly created four other new jobs.
Although specifically warned not to do so, the board of the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) has submitted the name of Catherine Templeton as its nominee to become the agency’s next commissioner.
Is Templeton the ideal choice to run this agency?
Based on her one-year tenure as director of the S.C. Department of Labor [...]
“Republican” State Senators warned S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley not to nominate controversial cabinet member Catherine Templeton as the next commissioner of the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) … but Haley did it anyway.
Well, technically Haley’s appointees to the SCDHEC board nominated Templeton … but we all know how that goes.
Now the S.C. [...]
Catherine Templeton – the embattled director of the S.C. Department of Labor Licensing and Regulation (SCLLR) – will leave her post to become the next director of the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC).
Hmmmm … let’s hope this “part-time director” actually bothers to show up for her second six-figure taxpayer job.
Templeton – whose [...]
A former S.C. Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (SCLLR) employee who exposed a culture of cronyism at the embattled agency has filed a wrongful termination lawsuit alleging that his First Amendment rights were violated when he was fired.
Former SCLLR investigator Mark Kelly’s allegations of a “hit list” rocked the agency several months ago – [...]
Barring a Christmas miracle, South Carolina’s tourism industry will fail to achieve the “double-digit growth” promised recently by S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley’s “tourism czar.”
Oh … and things aren’t looking especially good for next year, either.
Why does our state even have a “tourism czar?” It shouldn’t … but that’s another argument for another time …
We’re focused [...]
Embattled S.C. Department of Labor Licensing and Regulation (SCLLR) director Catherine Templeton fired back at her critics on Friday, releasing a list of cost-saving measures and other reforms undertaken by her agency over the last ten months.
Templeton – who has been criticized for being a “part-time director” – sent state lawmakers a comprehensive list of [...]
Back when South Carolina taxpayers were providing her with a state-owned Dodge Durango to travel back and forth from Mount Pleasant to Columbia, S.C. a few times each week, S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley’s director of the Department of Labor Licensing and Regulation (SCLLR) was still little more than a “part-time” employee.
So … what’s happened since [...]
Courtesy of one of our anonymous sources, FITS has obtained the fuel logs for Catherine “Part-Time” Templeton – S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley’s director of the scandal-plagued S.C. Department of Labor Licensing and Regulation (LLR).
These are the logs which were referenced in this week’s big LLR story by The (Columbia, S.C.) Free Times – as well [...]
Catherine Templeton – S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley’s “part-time” director of the Department of Labor Licensing and Regulation (LLR)- put 14,000 miles on a state-owned Dodge Durango over a four-month period earlier this year.
Templeton also racked up $4,500 in gas, mileage and maintenance payments associated with the vehicle, according to an investigation conducted by The (Columbia, [...]
