You all realize that back when Medicare was created, it was called socialized medicine by it’s critics too, right? By no less then Ronald Reagan (who was actually a registered Democrat at the time) and George H.W. Bush. (And then we have the morons saying “Keep your government hands off of my Medicare”)

And let’s not forget that the ultra-conservatives have been spreading lies about how the NHS works in the U.K., which is also socialized medicine. (The whole folderol about how Stephen Hawking would be dead if he had been dependent on NHS… which is shocking because he is alive because of NHS.)

I’m not saying that the plan up before Congress is going to be sweetness and light and solve everything, but you might want to actually find out what the hell you are talking about first before you go off and claim we’re all going to be turned into Communists because more people will have health care available.

Are you nuts? If you watch the games, SC still has the best offensive schemes in college football. They’re just not going to beat out Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, LSU or Georgia for the top players.

These end of season collapses are because they have no depth. As players get hurt at undersized SC, they simply don’t have enough quality players left to compete in the SEC. Lou Holtz had the same problem.

The Free Times is now larger than The State newspaper! Hell, The Star is far more interesting than The State. The State has now joined the rest of corporate America–going down the tubes. All biz decisions are made by wonder-kids for the good of the parent company and the few who run it at the top. Last week The State quoted Fitsnews on the cemetery sex story. Now that’s a first!

It is happening all over. I just got back from Jacksonville, Florida and the Jaguars stadium attendance was pathetic. They have giant tarps stretched over the end zones to force people to sit together so when the cameras pan the seats it appears to be a full crowd. There seems to be a dark mood across the land. It is about money, don’t kid yourself. Bigger is not always better.

i knew we would lose that game the second the extra point was missed. the interception in the end zone and, obviously, the snap for a safety were the nails in the coffin, but that missed extra point was the biggest clue that nothing was going to go right from that moment. And that was like 13 seconds into the second half. in hind sight maybe it was over when we had to use 2 time outs in a row on the first drive and had to settle for a field goal.

IS she Catholic?
Would answer a LOT about what she’s going to do.
Hard to get an annulment when youhave four kids with a guy. A least if you’re not a Kennedy. She’d want that, if she’s strict Catholic.
And Sullivan, her maiden name. Irish chicks? Don’t mess with them.

BIN – actually, most intelligent life forms have figured out that spending a buck for AP wire stories that they can get on line is stupid. Not only that, spending money on newspapers like The State, USA Today is basically writing a check to the Democrat National Committee.

Do yourselves a favor – get a subscription to the Wall Street Journal – better reporting, better news, better editorials, and y’all might learn a thing or two about numbers – the achilles heal of the politico wannabes.

My heart goes out to our first lady – the website is first class just as she has been throughout her ordeal.

Make no mistake – infidelity, separation, contemplatin of divorce are tough enough – add the kleig lights and the 24/7 national enquiresque news cycle and it’s amazing to me she’s not decked a moron like Bin at some point.

Fight the good fight Mrs. Sanford – better yet – retain someone for that and enjoy the breeze on Sullivan’s Island.
