Why Is Jesse Jackson Talking About Obama’s Nuts? July 9, 2008

CONTROVERSIAL COMMENT CAPTURED ON “HOT” MICROPHONE
FITSNews - July 9, 2008 - Poverty pimp and race-baiter extrordinaire Jesse Jackson reportedly says that Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama will “cut his nuts out” with the black community in an off-camera excerpt from an interview that is scheduled to air on FOX News tonight at 8:00 p.m.
Or wait … maybe he says he wants to “cut Obama’s nuts off.” Nobody seems to be sure yet of the exact wording, but it definitely has something to do with Obama’s testicles … and bad things happening to them.
The controversial “off-air” comments, which are reportedly in reference to Obama not being black enough “talking down black people,” have already created an Internet sensation even though nobody really knows yet exactly what Jackson said.
For his part, the Reverend of the Race Card is apologizing profusely and saying that he is still all about Obama, and is in fact still cherishing “the historic event in which we are involved,” which we can only assume means the historic event in which black people are involved.

By Mande Wilkes
FITSNews - July 9, 2008 - Not satisfied with bankrupting the nation, presidential nominee Barack Obama is adorning his socialist package with a great big bow in the form of mandatory volunteerism.
Historically termed “slavery,” American middle and high school students will be forced to volunteer 50 hours of annual service, and college students will have to contribute 100 hours.
Note that the U.S. Constitution, in the 13th Amendment, states that “neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime … shall exist within the United States.”
Though it’s pretty easy these days to circumvent the Constitution, the only way Obama’s plan could pass the smell test would be if all of the Supreme Court justices died and a stalemated Congress couldn’t agree on any replacements. (more…)
Libertarian: The New Democrat? July 8, 2008

By Mande Wilkes
FITSNews - July 8, 2008 - Amid Republicans’ frenzied fear of a November spoiler in the form of Libertarian Party presidential candidate Bob Barr, some smart somebody somewhere decided to test whether these concerns are justified. Turns out, they’re not.
Rasmussen Reports conducted research on presidential preferences among libertarians, and concluded that they favor Democrat Barack Obama to Republican John McCain - and by a lot more than just a little bit.
Comprising just four percent of voters nationwide, libertarians are apparently way more likely to vote Democrat than conventional wisdom dictated. In fact, according to the Rasmussen results, 53 percent prefer Obama while 38 percent favor McCain. (more…)
Obama Is Expensive
Posted by fitsnews in : Presidential Politics , 10 commentsCANDIDATE’S PLANS WOULD COST $130 BILLION A YEAR, BUDGET ANALYSTS SAY
FITSNews - July 8, 2008 - We’ve discussed how expensive Barack Obama’s education plan is in the past, but it turns out the kabillions that the Democratic presidential nominee wants to shell out on our nation’s failing, non-competitive public education system is actually one of his less expensive proposals.
According to a Clinton-era budget analyst, Obama’s proposals to grow government by $130 billion a year (combined with a middle class tax cut of $80 billion a year) aren’t adding up with reality. Basically, they work in Obama’s speeches, just not anywhere else. From the LA Times :
“I don’t think it all adds up,” Isabel Sawhill, an official in President Clinton’s Office of Management and Budget, said of Obama’s spending plans.
“There will definitely need to be a recalibration of these proposals once someone is in office,” said Sawhill, now a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. “The fiscal situation just isn’t going to permit doing what Sen. Obama or anyone else would like …”
… Obama has said he would strengthen the nation’s bridges and dams ($6 billion a year), help make men better fathers ($50 million a year) and aid Iraqis displaced by the war ($2 billion in one-time spending). Last week, he pledged to give religious and community groups $500 million a year to provide summer education to low-income children.
Other proposals are more costly. Obama wants to extend health insurance to more people (part of a $65-billion-a-year health plan), develop cleaner energy sources ($15 billion a year), curb home foreclosures ($10 billion in one-time spending) and add $18 billion a year to education spending.
So basically Obama’s massive expansion of government is about as likely to happen as John McCain’s promise to balance the federal budget by 2013.
Hmmmm … there’s a Naked Eyes song we’re thinking of that seems to fit for both these guys …
Balancing The Whatever, Whenever July 7, 2008

FITSNews - July 7, 2008 - After initially saying he would balance the federal budget in one term - and then saying it would take two terms - GOP presidential nominee John McCain is back to saying he’ll do it in one term again today.
This, of course, ignores the reality that McCain - or any other politician for that matter - doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of balancing the federal budget, no matter how many terms we give him.
Sure, it’s nice that he’s trying, but the “bottom line” in Washington D.C. is that neither Republicans nor Democrats will ever adhere to the “bottom line” that thousands of American families and businesses must live by every single year.
How come? Because neither party gives a damn about the taxpayers, that’s how come. Republicans have proven just as wasteful and inefficient as Democrats ever were, and the notion that something as simple as a balanced budget would ever fly in a town where both sides are hopelessly beholden to special interests is ludicrous.
We wish McCain all the best, but unless we’re electing 100 new Senators and 435 new Representatives in November (in addition to a new President), a balanced budget just ain’t in the cards anytime soon …
Barr Defines Libertarianism July 3, 2008

AND THEN DEFIES IT
By Mande Wilkes
FITSNews - July 3, 2008 - In a recent appearance on Fox News, Libertarian Party presidential candidate Bob Barr explained why he embodies libertarian principles - we’re just not sure he understands what those principles are.
As we see it, libertarianism is at its core about personal autonomy, that God-given right which has been under attack by politicians who insist that they know what’s best for each one of us. Bob Barr appears to agree, declaring that libertarianism represents the fight “to shrink the size of the federal government.”
But Barr has an odd method of tackling that goal, and anchor Chris Wallace pointedly called him out on his questionable commitment to individual freedom from expansive governance. One by one, Wallace highlights freedom-limiting legislation that Barr helped pass, revealing the Congressman’s voting record to be inconsistent with his declared libertarian paradigm. (more…)
Ledbetter Lowdown July 2, 2008

By Mande Wilkes
FITSNews - July 2, 2008 - Apparently more interested in form over substance, Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama isn’t practicing what he preaches with regard to workplace equality.
According to a report by the Secretary of the Senate, men are overrepresented among Obama’s staff and the average male employee makes $6,000 more than his female counterpart.
This data has been released amid Obama’s recent support of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act, a bill which sought to relax time limits for sex discrimination suits. Though the bill eventually failed, Obama voted for it - a fact which he incessantly repeats as part of his effort to court Hillary Clinton supporters.
In fact, Obama spoke just last week in New Mexico about his commitment to workplace equality and his support of the defunct Lilly Ledbetter bill. (more…)
