Is Obama More Popular Than Jesus? May 19, 2008
Posted by fitsnews in : Presidential Politics , 18 commentsMAYBE NOT, BUT 75K IS A LOT OF PEEPS
FITSNews – May 19, 2008 - In another blow to the Billary campaign, presidential candidate Barack Obama held a political rally with 75,000 in attendance yesterday in Oregon two days before that state’s presidential primary. Obama didn’t part water, but he did part ways with his campaign against Clinton and is now clearly focusing all of his energy on John McCain - yet another sign that it’s indeed over for Hillary. From the MSM fawning:
“We still have some contests left, but if Kentucky and Oregon go as we hope, then we think we will have a majority of pledged delegates at that point, and that’s a pretty significant mark, that means that after contests in every state, or almost every state and the territories, that we have received a majority of the delegates that are assigned by voters,” Obama said.
Clinton, on the other hand, held a vigil praying for a win in Kentucky, telling an audience of maybe two people that “right now I am leading in the popular vote. More Americans have voted for me. And the states that I have won are states that a Democrat has to win to be elected in the fall…”
Yeah … no wonder she’s talking to herself.
In other news, based on the extensive TV coverage we saw of Obama’s record-setting political rally, the state of Oregon really needs to pass a law requiring women to shave their legs and armpits. Seriously, that’s just gross!
Edwards Goes For Obama May 15, 2008
Posted by fitsnews in : Presidential Politics , 3 commentsWHEN WILL HILLARY DROP OUT?
FITSNews - May 15, 2008 - South Carolina native and former N.C. Senator John Edwards has officially thrown his support (and his flapping arms) behind Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.
From the LA Times:
The announcement was a blow to Hillary Rodham Clinton, whose bid for the Democratic nomination appears all but lost, and brought Obama a welcome distraction from his landslide defeat Tuesday in the West Virginia primary … The 41-percentage-point rout sparked new questions about his persistent troubles appealing to white, blue-collar voters, even if it did little to boost Clinton’s prospects. In Edwards, Obama picked up the support of a former presidential candidate who had emphasized his roots as the son of a mill worker and aimed his pitch at working-class voters.
You know, as much as we absolutely can’t stand John Edwards and his phoney, rich boy socialism … we might actually take his advice over that of the entire state of West Virginia.
What’s interesting here is not necessarily what this does for Hillary Clinton’s nonexistent presidential prospects, but what it does for her chances at securing the second spot on the ticket.
Can anybody say Obama-Edwards?

FITSNews - May 12, 2008 - We really apologize for having to follow up Megan Fox’s picture with this 1950’s-looking shot of Bob Barr, especially since we’ve already broken the story of his libertarian presidential bid.
So yeah … Bob Barr is running for president. Whoop-ti-do!

FITSNews - May 12, 2008 - In a perfect world, we would stare at that picture of Jessica Alba all day and contemplate to ourselves how in the world she manages to look hotter pregnant than the misleadingly un-pregnant Jennifer Love Hewitt …
Alas, this is not a perfect world, however, which means we have to write about this stuff:
DOUBLE TROUBLE FOR McCAIN: According to The Politico, now is not an especially good time to be a Republican, even a “different kind of Republican,” which seems to be John McCain’s presidential gameplan. “Republicans are getting crushed at the polls and in the polls,” The Politico says, adding that the number of voters who identify themselves as Republicans is at a 16-year low. Adding to McCain’s woes is another report from The Nation which reveals that one in four Republicans are rejecting the Arizona Senator’s candidacy. Ouch …
TAXATION, SCHMAXATION: The Boston Globe published an excellent report this weekend that sifts through the political rhetoric on the so-called “Bush tax cuts” and paints a decidedly unimpressive picture about America’s system of taxation. Basically, nothing’s changed in the last two decades, as Americans are paying almost exactly the same percentage of their income in taxes as they were before Bill Clinton was president. (more…)

PALMETTO SCOOP: CONTROVERSIAL PASTOR COULD BE CANCELLING AIKEN VISIT
FITSNews – May 8, 2008 – The racist controversial former pastor to Barack Obama, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was set to visit Aiken, S.C. next week, however, Adam Fogle at the Palmetto Scoop is reporting that security concerns may cancel the trip.
“[Fogle] spoke with a source who said that, although Wright has been here before, the trip may have been called off for security reasons. The source could not go into further details other than to say, ‘nothing is set in stone yet.’”
The visit was scheduled to take place at Second Baptist Church, according to the Aiken Standard. Wright is not new to South Carolinians, he’s made several trips to the church in the past, according to WRDW-TV in Augusta, which initially broke the story.
Hmmm … security concerns? Really? Here’s a guy who praises Louis Farrakhan, claims the U.S. government is responsible for the AIDS virus, preaches “God Damn America” from the pulpit, and there are security concerns? In South Carolina?
Seriously people, our only surprise is that this guy isn’t dead already.
Obama Has Got This May 7, 2008
Posted by fitsnews in : Presidential Politics , 8 commentsBUT HE’S STILL GETTING ON OUR LAST NERVE WITH HIS HAPPY TALK
FITSNews - May 7, 2008 - Like a python tightening its grip, Illinois Senator Barack Obama continued to take air out of Hillary Clinton’s campaign yesterday by winning North Carolina convincingly and doing better than expected in Indiana. Obama picked up a net gain of nine delegates, making his nomination that much more “inevitabler” and making the complicated delegate math increasingly “complicated-er” for the former First Lady.
In other news, Obama continues to annoy the hell out of us with all his generic “change blah blah” talk. From the Washington Post:
“We have seen that it’s possible to overcome the politics of division and distraction, that it’s possible to overcome the same old negative attacks that are always about scoring points and never about solving our problems,” Obama said at a victory rally in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Awwww … of course it is. Now here’s what was going through his head when he said that:
“That b*tch tried to take me out, yo. But thank God for all you black brothers and sisters here in North Carolina!”
We know dipshits like Rush Limbaugh want us to keep sowing division and what not in the Democratic race, but seriously people, Obama has got this.
SC Democrats Rocked By Superdelegate Scandal May 6, 2008
Posted by fitsnews in : Presidential Politics , 14 commentsREX WOULDN’T PLAY BALL WITH “AUTOMATIC OBAMA” ENDORSEMENT, SOURCES SAY
FITSNews - May 6, 2008 - Three days after former S.C. Education Superintendent Inez Tenenbaum was selected as one of South Carolina’s democratic superdelegates (and promptly pledged her support to Barack Obama), sources are telling FITSNews that Obama’s campaign and the state party deliberated manipulated the selection process to ensure that the Illinois Senator received this critical “unpledged” vote.
Specifically, the party is said to have initially offered the superdelegate slot to current S.C. Education Superintendent Jim Rex, who balked at having to endorse Obama as a precondition.
“It was offered to him,” a source close to Rex told FITSNews this morning. “He declined on the basis that the SCDP should not place conditions on unpledged delegates.”
S.C. democrats reserve an unpledged ”superdelegate” spot for top statewide officials like Rex. In fact, Tenenbaum represented the party in this capacity in 2000 while she was superintendent.
This time, however, Rex’s reluctance to pledge to Obama in advance cost him the coveted slot. (more…)
