Washington, D.C. – After participating the Inauguration of Donald J. Trump as the 45th President of the United States, Congressman Jeff Duncan released the following statement:

“President Trump’s Inaugural Address was simply excellent. I was especially heartened by his statement that this election and this inaugural returns power back to the American people.

For too long, politicians in Washington have sought power to pursue their own ends, not the ends of the American people. For the past 6 years, many of my colleagues and I have fought to restore the constitutional balance of power, reining in the Executive Branch, reinvigorating Congress’s Article I powers, and restoring the Tenth Amendment authority back to the States and the People. During that time, our efforts in Congress have been fought at every turn by an intransigent Administration bent on its own power-hungry transformation of the country.

I am thrilled to have in the White House someone who gets it – someone who understands that the time has come to re-empower the American people to exercise our God-given rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. I look forward to working hand in hand with the Trump Administration to bring about the renewal of the American spirit and the American economy.”
