AH THE “OBJECTIVE” PRESS …
We did a blurb earlier this week on the overwhelming support Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has been receiving from the mainstream media.
We’re not talking about their coverage, either … we’re talking actual campaign donations.
Because some in the legacy press are apparently that stupid.
Anyway, we were perusing a list of Clinton supporters on OpenSecrets.org and stumbled upon a $300 contribution made by a “journalist” based out of Charleston, South Carolina named Harriet McLeod.

Hmmmm …
The only journalist we know by that name who lives in Charleston, S.C. currently works for Reuters. In fact she covers the entire state for the wire service – and had numerous national bylines during the recent Hurricane Matthew drama.
She’s previously covered S.C. governor Nikki Haley – and has also previously published stories about GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Again, hmmmm …
This particular Harriet McLeod has worked for Reuters for the past nine years – after nearly a decade-and-a-half as an editor and columnist at The (Charleston, S.C.) Post and Courier.
Is it the same person? Several of our contacts in the Lowcountry mainstream media have told us “yes.” We’ve got a message out to McLeod but so far have received no response.
We’ll be sure to let our readers know if/ when that changes …
In the meantime, this election continues to shred the myth of “journalistic integrity.” For which our “Unfair, Imbalanced” media outlet is eternally grateful. Well, until U.S. president Barack Obama shuts us down.
