GOP “CONSULTANT CLASS” IS ASSESSING ITS OPTIONS …

South Carolina was not good to status quo “Republicans” in the 2016 presidential primary election.  Their standard-bearer – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio of Florida – received a mere 22.5 percent of the vote despite having the support of governor Nikki Haley, U.S. Senator Tim Scott and most of the state’s “Republican” party establishment.

Meanwhile former Florida governor Jeb Bush – who was among the frontrunners in the Palmetto State a year ago – received just 7.8 percent of the vote despite having the state’s largest GOP political empire squarely behind him.

Both Bush and Rubio have since dropped out of the race …

What are South Carolina’s “Republicrats” to do?

(Other than conspire to disenfranchise the people of their state, obviously).

Well, here’s a Facebook post from Shell Suber – a longtime advisor to uber-liberal U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (who abandoned his presidential bid back in December after polling at just 1.7 percent in his home state).

shell suber

Sound familiar? It should …

This is the status quo lashing out at the people, pure and simple.  It is the establishment being bitter – because the people have finally figured out that they are being taken for a ride.

We sincerely hope the “consultant class” follows through on its promise to form its own party … or succeeds in “restoring” the GOP to a party that stands for nothing other than accommodating Washington, D.C.’s reckless, feckless expansion.

Either way, they lose …

Crime may be down but as far as the economy goes, keep bleating that bullshit and whatever bogus figures you have to “back it up”. Sooner or later, someone will believe it. I know a lot of people from many different walks of life and while some are doing well, most have a feeling of abject hopelessness. The knowledge that things will eventually get better that was always there in past times of economic decline just isn’t there, anymore.

Donald Trump said Sunday that he doesn’t think Europe is a safe place to visit these days, but then again, he’s not so sure about the United States being safe, either.

“I don’t think America is a safe place for Americans right now,” he told ABC News’ Jonathan Karl on the “Good Morning America” program.

New York
81 district delegates are bound to presidential contenders based on the primary results in each of the state’s 27 congressional districts. Each congressional district is assigned 3 National Convention delegates who are slated by the Presidential candidates prior to the primary. In each district:

If a candidate receives more than 50% or only 1 candidate receives 20% or more of the vote, that candidate receives all 3 delegates.

If at least 2 presidential contenders receive 20% or more of the vote, the candidate with the most votes receives 2 delegates and the candidate with the second most of votes receives 1 delegate.

Otherwise, if no presidential contender receives 20% or more of the vote, the party will elect 3 delegates without considering the results of the primary.

Duh!!!!!!!

You really have become stupid…

“Trump leads Kasich 47 percent to 22 percent in New York, with Cruz bringing up the rear at 15 percent, according to Optimus’ survey. The district breakdowns also show Trump leading in every seat except one, a heavily Democratic district where the sample size was less than 100. Furthermore, Trump clears the 50-percent mark in 11 New York congressional districts … That’s important because district winners in New York can collect all three district delegates if they win a majority of the vote there. (A statewide majority would also net Trump all 14 at-large delegates, instead of sharing them proportionally.) Trump is at 45 percent or higher in an additional half-dozen New York congressional districts, per Optimus.” http://politico.pro/1RzFoct

Joey Burger Farmer March 30, 2016 at 10:18 pm

But if Trump only gets 2 of three in 20 NY districts, that’s just 40 plus the three in the other 10 (if it holds) – that’s 70, plus the 17. That means he walks away without 20 to 30 of those delegates. And Every Delegate Counts.

Nat March 30, 2016 at 1:18 pm

Actually, this election cycle is not about Democrat versus Republican, liberal versus conservative, it is about a movement versus the establishment. You have Trump and Sanders as the standard-bearers to which support from “right” and “left” has coalesced.
Neither in the long run will be successful, but there will remain a deep-seated dislike for politics as usual in the future. Right now, there is probably a good chance that Hillary will be elected in November, and if she is, it could be the last hurrah for either establishment party. In the future, the campaigns of Trump and Sanders will not go unnoticed and without analysis. People are tired of the “ruling class”.

Thanks, many people are seeing the present political situation in this country as unable to get any worse. Marx and Engels were correct in their philosophy of Dialectic Materialism. The main idea of dialectical materialism lies in the concept of the evolution of the natural world and the emergence of new qualities of being at new stages of evolution. Engels made constant use of the metaphysical insight that the higher
level of existence emerges from and has its roots in the lower level of ideas..
Our current system has to evolve to a higher base on the tried and true concepts of our earlier existing political system, which has become tainted. If we don’t change, we are doomed.
By the way, I am not a commie, although I was married at one time to a woman with political ideas that would make Stalin appear sane.

Reply
TroubleBaby March 30, 2016 at 3:35 pm

It’s like anything, even the most delusional can have moments of clarity on any given topic- so just because the concept of communism is horrible(IMO) if it’s achieved involuntarily-(and usually voluntarily, but that’s a whole different topic…think of the Plymouth colony) doesn’t mean they were wrong in other areas.

I don’t necessarily agree with your viewpoint that Hilliary is a shoe-in, as Presidential elections tighten up once the candidates are clear and dates draw close…plus there’s that whole server issue…but I agree with most of the rest of your write up and thought it quite good.

My comment on Hillary was based on assumptions that she will not be charged with a crime, or suffer dire consequences from the release of the FBI investigation without being charged.
I do think she should be charged, and there is a good possibility she will be charged. But, I am dealing with the “here and now”.
When the FBI starts releasing data, my bets are that the game will change, then we can deal with the ramifications. Personally, I think she is dishonest, getting a free ride and even a defensive posture toward her in the press, and her constituency cares more about keeping the “establishment” in business more than they are concerned about her hijacked morals.

Oh I loved that. Yeah, I met a lady once on a flight who ran a family dairy farm in upstate New York. She said they lived and died with immigrant labor. They would actually deed small lots of their farms to illegals to build houses. The biggest fear they always had was in Winter if Juan was going to try and go home to visit family, if he got caught he might not come back. And she said it was all the dairy farms in upstate NY and WI.

Reply

Reply
Flip March 30, 2016 at 1:57 pm

Because he isn’t doing anything to give them a legal avenue to come here, just like all the racist Republicans that want to keep Hispanics out?

Reply
Nat March 30, 2016 at 2:12 pm

Cows aren’t seasonal. Which was another example of Trump talking out of his ass. Neither man was satisfied with Trump or Cruz’s answers. It was obvious they want immigration reform, so they can keep their workers. And aren’t you Trump lovers all pissed off about importing foreign workers to do American jobs?

Reply
Flip March 30, 2016 at 2:17 pm

The people they are appeasing by going against illegal immigrants don’t want the people to stay, even if it is through legal means. They can’t discuss how they would allow the workers to come back because it would obliterate their standing in the eyes of their racist supporters, and you can’t win the Republican primary with appeasing the racists apparently.

Tom March 30, 2016 at 6:57 pm

My observation. Blue collar middle class Americans are waking up to the fact they have been screwed. They have supported Republicans since Reagan. Most of them came to the party by way of the Republican’s “Southern Strategy” of pitting white people against minorities and portraying the Republican party as the party of white people.

They have dutifully voted over and over for a party controlled by billionaires, who have nothing in common with them, don’t have a clue what their concerns are, don’t care what their concerns are, and really want them to just be poor uneducated workers the way they were in the early 20th century. Billionaires who behind closed doors took the position the American worker expects too much. So they outsourced their jobs to cheap labor countries, began taking away their retirement benefits, stopped providing a reasonably priced college education for their children, and increase the portion they paid of of the cost of operating the country. In the meantime those same billionaires, took 95% of the growth in the economy for 4 decades, leaving 5% to be divided by everyone else.

They are now coming to realize they have more in common with the poor people they have looked down on, than the billionaires who think they are no different than any other piece of equipment in their business. Totally disposable.

They just don’t know where to turn, because they have believed GOP lies for so long they no longer listen to anyone but right wing media and Republicans. So they turn to the first person who is not a “demonized” democrat who appears to understand their frustration. That is Trump.

So why the huge backlash from the establishment? Because they are about to lose their power. They are really afraid they will be kicked out of the party they built. They are afraid of losing their billionaire income stream.
