“LUV GOV” SAYS HE WILL NOT SUPPORT DONALD TRUMP IF HE WINS THE GOP NOMINATION
In case you hadn’t noticed, it’s panic time in the “Republican” party. The populist insurgency channeled by surprise GOP frontrunner Donald Trump has the establishment wing of the party on the run.
And let’s be honest … the status quo has absolutely no one to blame for its dire situation but itself.
Anyway, the GOP elites have thrown everything they have at Trump in the run-up to this month’s Super Tuesday primary elections – with absolutely nothing to show for their efforts.
Hopping on their establishment bandwagon at the eleventh hour? U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford – formerly known as the two-term “Luv Gov” of South Carolina.
Once a principled pro-freedom, pro-free market politician, Sanford has changed dramatically since returning to politics in 2013. We’ve been chronicling his descent into mushy middle-dom (here, here and here), but Sanford emphatically affirmed his loyalty to the “Republican” status quo this week when he became a founding member of the U.S. House GOP’s “Not Trump” caucus.
“His candidacy is one I certainly can’t support,” Sanford told The Wall Street Journal this week.
Really? We wonder what did it …
Perhaps it was Trump’s opposition to the crony capitalist trade bill Sanford supported? Maybe Sanford is afraid Trump will kill the crony capitalist subsidies he endorsed?
Who knows …
Maybe Jesus told Sanford to oppose Trump? Sort of like Jesus told him to vote for liberal U.S. Speaker John Boehner last year?

Sanford seems to forget how many of the voters had to hold their noses to vote for HIM! His Whoever-is-a-TRUE-Christian-must-vote-for-Me Litmus Test is now even more laughable in the face of his many past and present choices.
With Sanford, Haley, and God only knows what other reprobates opposing Trump, I guess they will be helping Clinton get elected and the destruction of the Country will be complete!

It’s reflective of the disdain that a “yuge” percentage of Republicans have for Drumpf. The proof will be in the November pudding, unless there’s a very big, and very quick, outbreak of sanity.
Money, power, and influence- the Establishment doesn’t want to lose it. The GOP voters have had enough of being controlled by Special Interests. Even “Liberty Trail blazer” Sanford is firmly at the trough of his handlers lapping it up. Look at his record- not about boutique issues where his vote doesn’t mean a hill of beans. He is a compromised politico looking to the Special Interests for survival.

Went to see him in June 2008 about closing down our landfills and de-centralizing our electric grid and realized then that nothing would be done. He did allow more time than I was allowed so that was a positive. So….here we are in 2016 and our troops suffer from burn-pit toxins because Plasma waste to energy converters were never even TURNED on after they were installed. Our troops would have witnessed new technology that was not being used to close down our own landfills here across America. So sad. Heck, where has Mark been concerning the FLINT fiasco. I guess as long as the “Speaker” of the House doesn’t talk about it then no other Rep is allowed to say anything. Guess if Mark is going to be considered a sellout then a I guess he is OUR sellout. We have so much potential in our state but no one wants to tell an old coot that new technology will close them down. New jobs will be created.
