WHICH ALSO-RANS SHOULD GIVE UP RUNNING?
|| By FITSNEWS || Former Texas governor Rick Perry pulled the plug on his 2016 presidential campaign last week … becoming the first candidate to formally drop out of the “Republican” primary race in the wake of the Donald Trump surge.
Were we glad to see Perry, a crony capitalist and sanctimonious moralizer, throw in the towel? Yes … yes we were.
We were even more satisfied to see his embarrassing exit from the race deposit some well-deserved egg on the face of former SCGOP chairman Katon Dawson, who managed Perry’s Palmetto State efforts.
Now it’s time to scan the horizon for additional white flags …
We can think of another half dozen candidates (at least) who should probably follow Perry’s lead … but will they?
According to the latest nationally polling, there are six candidates polling at or below one percent … Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal, New Jersey governor Chris Christie, former Virginia governor Jim Gilmore, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and former New York governor George Pataki.
Which of these candidates do you think should abandon their bids?
