GOP DISSENT SOARING …

|| By FITSNEWS || Can’t believe we missed this last week but there’s a new Pew Research Center survey out showing soaring contempt for the U.S. Supreme Court … especially among GOP voters.

And with good reason …

“Following major, end-of-term rulings on (Obamacare) and same-sex marriage, unfavorable opinions of the Supreme Court have reached a 30-year high,” the Pew researchers noted.  “And opinions about the court and its ideology have never been more politically divided.”

Forty-eight percent of Americans view the court favorably, compared to 43 percent who view it unfavorably.  That latter number is the highest since 1985 – when Marty McFly took a ride in a time traveling DeLorean.  Among “Republicans,” only 33 percent have a favorable view of the court – compared to 61 percent who view the court unfavorably.  That’s a huge shift from earlier this year, when 50 percent of GOP respondents viewed the court favorable compared to 40 percent who viewed it unfavorably.

We don’t necessarily disagree with court’s ruling on gay marriage … although we’ve consistently stated it’s not government’s place to affirm or outlaw any form of marriage (gay, straight or plural).

As for its latest ruling on Obamacare, though?

… the court not only ignored the clear language – and explicit intent – of Obamacare, it overturned multiple lower court rulings striking down the taxes and subsidies

… it is quite simply the costliest, most indefensible, most egregious, most flagrant rebuke of the rule of law we’ve ever seen.

In other words, count us in the 43 percent who view the court “unfavorably.”

Here’s the historical trend lines …

Supreme Court’s Image Declines

Pew’s survey was conducted from July 14-20, 2015.  It included a national sample of 2,002 adults, 18 years of age or older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.  Its margin of error is plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.

The “rule of law” per the constitution states that the Supreme Court is the ultimate arbiter over the validity of the law, so the morons whining about it are drowning themselves in De Nial.

Healthcare is more accessible, and the uninsured rates have dropped as a result.

Gay couples now have the same rights under law as the rest of us.

Now Flip and GT can finally tie the knot!

It is a great day in the United States of America!

These pigs weren’t whining when SCOTUS ruled on Citizens United. I guess gay people getting hitched is worse than the rich buying our elections.

Who knew!

Real issues don’t matter, fake ones do!

I don’t know whether I pity or envy them!

“I don’t know whether I pity or envy them!”
I don’t do either – I just laugh at them – and speaking of laughing, that debate tomorrow night is shaping up to be something else! LOL

I’m sure you would have told that to the Jewish people, right before you and Adolph pushed them into the gas chamber, wouldn’t you?

I know this is difficult for you to comprehend, but when you MAKE law as a court, instead of uphold it, it has a tendency to piss off THE PEOPLE who pay you to abide by THE CONSTITUTION!!!!

Well, I’m sure your Harvard Law degree that qualifies you as a sitting Supreme Court justice will help enlighten them. Oh wait, right, you don’t those qualifications. Carry on.

BTW – they did uphold the laws and the constitution in both cases. That you don’t understand that – well – that’s really the telling moment.

Hmm, 48% approval for the Supreme Court which is mostly conservatives and 41% approval rating for the Republican Party. I’m seeing a lot of rejection here.

GrandTango, did the AC on your trailer go out again?

You sure are running HOT today!

Speaking of constitutions, maybe you should read ours!

They are doing what the constitution gives them the power to do!

Maybe you should dunk your head in some water to cool off!

Don’t forget to come up for air!

King v. Burwell was a joke from the get-go, with plaintiffs lacking standing and a deliberate ignorance of judicial tradition of considering the ACA as a whole, rather than as a conglomeration of unrelated sentences.

The real travesty was that it got three votes to overturn, but Scalia, Alito and Thomas have been poster children for conservatives’ contempt for everyone but their overlords.

So people like the court when it does what they agree with. That’s news?
