Dear Editor,

To hear most establishment political elites tell it, the U.S. Export-Import Bank handles all of God’s personal banking – therefore it’s a sin to oppose it.  But what’s at the heart of the Ex-Im bank is crony capitalism and corporate welfare … two things that the GOP swears they stand united against.

They even have a neat little creed for the party renouncing it.

Unfortunately it is Republicans, proud members of the professional political elite of the ‘conservative’ right pushing forward on a plan to keep crony capitalism and corporate welfare alive and well, using your tax dollars to do so.  This bill aims to increase the bank’s lending capacity to $140 billion up from $100 billion.

Let me be clear to all the so called conservatives reading this: there is nothing free market about the idea of the federal government speculating with your tax dollars, providing loans to private companies for the purposes of competing against other private companies here in the U.S. and around the world. Furthermore, on what planet do you trust unelected bureaucrats with that authority?

This is the single most blatant example of GOP hypocrisy and it seems like absolutely nobody gives a damn. I hope you’ll take some time, educate yourself on this issue, and call folks like Representatives Mick Mulvaney, Tom Rice and John Boehner and Senators Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell and John McCain and ask them why they think the Ex-Im bank should be reauthorized. While you’re at it, ask for a government-backed interest free loan with no repayment terms since they’re so fond of giving them out with your money.

After all, it’s your money. Shouldn’t you be entitled to it?

Sincerely,

Mike Adams

Mike: Very nice! We’ve been opposing this crony capitalist slush fund for years. By the way, don’t forget U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford sold out hard on this issue.

Sanford’s been “selling out hard” for the last ten years. Just ask all of the floozies that he has been porking.
