|| By FITSNEWS || Five Clemson University football players have been named to the preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference first team – including player of the year favorite Deshaun Watson.

Joining the sophomore signal caller on the all-ACC first team?

Offensively, the Tigers placed senior guard Eric Mac Lain and wide receivers Mike Williams, a junior, and Artavis Scott, a sophomore.  Junior defensive end Shaq Lawson was Clemson’s only first-team defensive selection.

Clemson was picked to win the ACC by conference sportswriters this year … pretty impressive when you consider the talent and depth head coach Dabo Swinney’s team will have to replace on the defensive side of the football.

Last year Clemson boasted the No. 1 defense in the land – but well enter 2015 without its three top players, defensive end Vic Beasley, linebacker Stephone Anthony and defensive tackle Grady Jarrett.

Beasley – the 2014 ACC defensive player of the year – was chosen No. 8 overall in the 2015 NFL draft by the Atlanta Falcons, while Anthony was selected with the 31st pick of the draft by the New Orleans Saints.  Jarrett was selected by the Falcons in the fifth round.

That’s some serious talent to replace …

You’re all 5-Star NFL Recruits in July. Funny what one good year does for you Taters. Yet you’ve buried the Gamecocks because they had one year in which the team sunk so low, they were beaten by Clemson.
Why do I have a feeling that FITNews will be the same about Clemson in 3 months as it was about the 2 Toms (Erving and Rav) on Election Day 2014?
You’re all heroes during prediction time, only to look ignorant when the puddin’ comes out.

And worst of all… they have to listen to Todd Ellis do play-by-play.

“He’s at the 40, the 45, the 50, the 55…!!!!!!”.
