BUT SOUTH CAROLINA’S WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM IS SEEING RECORD FAN SUPPORT

|| By FITSNEWS || A total of 32,510,647 fans attended men’s collegiate basketball games across the country in 2014-15, the NCAA announced this week.  Of those, roughly 27.4 million attended Division I games.

That’s roughly identical to last year’s numbers – and down from the NCAA’s peak men’s hoops’ attendance of 33,396,316 (set in 2007-08).

Leading the way in total home attendance?  Kentucky – which drew 447,874 fans at its games this season at Rupp Arena in Lexington (nearly besting Syracuse, which drew 429,378).  However Syracuse narrowly edged Kentucky in per game attendance, averaging 23,854 fans per game.

Kentucky had held that mark for eight consecutive seasons.

Closer to home, South Carolina ranked No. 33 nationally in attendance during its third season under head coach Frank Martin, drawing 11,520 fans per home game.   That’s up from just over 10,000 fans per game a year ago – one of the largest increases in the country.  Clemson ranked No. 62, drawing 7,635 fans.

South Carolina’s women’s basketball team led the nation in attendance – drawing an average of 12,293 fans to its sixteen home games during the 2014-15 season.

Head coach Dawn Staley‘s team – which advanced to the school’s first-ever Final Four this spring – broke Tennessee’s eleven-year attendance reign.

Women’s basketball attendance at South Carolina has more than tripled over the last three seasons.

Liberal influence kills sports July 6, 2015 at 2:27 pm

College sports – and all sports – is becoming more and more controlled by liberal (like ADs and college presidents) and leftwing media interests. If you want to destroy ANYTHING, let liberals control it. The NCAA-T is a GREAT show, but each year it becomes more and more liberalized. This year the liberal-fest was topped off by a National Championship game that was handed to Duke, because Wisc. does not fit the liberal mythology of what college athletics have become.
Look at what you did to the Patriots because they are hated by Liberals.
Liberals write the script, and it is carried out. It will kill sports, eventually, when people figure it out.

You mean look at what Tom Brady and Bill Belichick did to the integrity of the game because they hate the rule book? And remember, their owner is a big supporter of President Obama, so they are not hated by liberals.

liberal influenced isnt far off. maybe a tad , but it amazes me how so many people vest so much time energy and money in a rigged game. college hoops pro hoops coll football and the nfl is all rigged and people lap this stuff up like its legitamite. anytime a point spread is printed in the paper theres a big problem. womens volleyball, equestrian, softball wrestling your getting the real deal . duke won a national championship with greg fukin zoubec at center a few years back . that would equal south carolina winning with jeff raulston. keep drinkin the kool ade suckers
