“POLITICALLY CORRECT NANNY STATISM” RUN AMOK

wilson|| By BILL WILSON || The far left’s effort to remake America according to its politically correct fantasies continues unabated – even as the U.S. economy groans under the weight of previous failed efforts (and even as supporters of the latest social experiments bemoan prior failures in central planning).  Once again everything is ostensibly geared toward addressing alleged discrimination so as to secure “upward mobility” for impoverished minorities.

Couldn’t afford the American Dream of owning a home?  Not to worry.  After a bogus government study concocted the myth of “discriminatory lending,” trillions of dollars in affordable housing loans magically materialized (along with new government mandates dictating who should receive them).  This race-based market manipulation artificially inflated the housing bubble – the puncture of which greatly contributed to the Great Recession.

Couldn’t afford to go to college?  Once again, government was ready to “help” – doling out billions of dollars worth of college loans to minority recipients (often for matriculation at government-subsidized institutions).  Like the upside-down mortgages generated by the housing bubble, though, many of the sheepskins obtained via this taxpayer-subsidized scam weren’t worth the debt incurred to obtain them.

Of course, President Barack Obama – confusing equality of outcomes for equality of opportunity – decreed “no one should go broke because they choose to go to college.” In other words, when – not if – the higher education bubble pops, taxpayers will find themselves on the hook for yet another economically-debilitating bailout.

While we await the fallout from this latest misadventure in manipulated markets, Obama’s bureaucrats are busy remodeling the current disaster – playing the race card so as to apply window dressing to the drab outlines of the “New Normal.” Specifically, Obama’s Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is imposing new regulations aimed at “diversifying” America’s neighborhoods — requiring cities to identify and root out “segregation” or risk losing federal funding.

Under the new regulation, city governments must “identify the primary determinants influencing fair housing conditions, prioritize addressing these conditions, and set one or more goals for mitigating or addressing their determinants.”

That’s not all. These reports – which must be submitted every five years – would also force cities to “track patterns in poverty and minority concentration, as well as ‘community access’ to transportation, good schools and jobs,” according to FOX News.

Sound like politically-correct nanny statism to you? It should – because it is.

Ironically, one of the staunchest supporters of the new rule – Margery Turner of the uber-liberal Urban Institute – acknowledged to The Hill how “decades of public policies” had contributed to “deeply segregated and unequal neighborhoods.” Of course, Turner still clings to the classic liberal fallacy: That more taxpayer money and more government control will somehow right these wrongs.

They won’t …

“decades of public policies” had contributed to “deeply segregated and unequal neighborhoods.”
No, decades of living on the public dole and relying on the government to take care of your every need leads to the dependency that we now see in certain demographic groups.
And it will only be fitting if this program starts in the suburbs of Washington, Boston, Baltimore, Philly, Chicago etc. These have been some of the locales that have repeatedly vote Democrat over the last few decades.

Why do you keep using the phrase “demographic group.” We already know you are a racist. You can use the N word. We won’t think any less of you than we already do. If that were even possible.

Unfair and imbalanced, just go with it. You get extra points in my books simply for being honest.

“Once again everything is ostensibly geared
toward addressing alleged discrimination so as to secure “upward
mobility” for impoverished minorities.”
Of course, I could have used the term “impoverished minorities,” but that would have probably also pissed you off. And why, what you think of someone, should really matter?

I guess for the same reason and to the same extent, what one more racist thinks about minorities matters.

And which part of the public dole would that be? Name the program(s) you are referring to. Or STFU

NO, decades of legalized discrimination, which locked “certain demographic groups” into housing that had already passed its useful life, while it financed other “demographic groups” with the very same loans you now condemn created the conditions you now see in the cities you mentioned.

It is almost indecent that you blame people rather than banks for the disaster that caused the global economy to nearly collapse.

It is simply ignorant of you to believe that the owners of the houses that are now boarded up in inner city communities were owned by minorities. The vast majority of these houses were owned by White slumlords who moved to the suburbs when FHA allowed them to obtain two FHA loans. They used these houses to pimp the poor, receiving above market, section 8 rents for these firetraps. They mortgaged and remortgaged these homes until they were underwater and then they walked away from them.

It’s those damn socialists taking over our health care! It’s because they hate Christians and want everyone to be gay married! Then they want to take down the American flag! No wonder we still have abortion! Those thugs in Baltimore are disgusting! I’ll never forget Benghazi! They better not take away my guns!

Wait, what were we talking about again? Oh yeah, tax cuts! Wanna know what I think about tax cuts? Liberals need to stop apologizing to the world! That damn Obama and his teleprompter! We need to support Israel!

It’s called “reality”. Something liberal Democrats have no experience with, everything they have is a dream world where everyone is the same regardless if you work hard or slack off.

Thanks for your constant reminder that brown people are inferior to white people.

Brown people, white people, yellow people, red people, black people… if you’re a lazy bum you get what’s coming to you.

Why do you think only brown people are liberal Democrats?

Ok, after a week of unity its back to politics as usual for the far right Wingnuts. The Blacks are coming to take your stuff, vote Republican. And of course the Fake News network was once again the source of their information. As Bill Maher said of Dylann Roof, “We can never know why someone snaps, but I bet you I know where he got his news.”

Lets get this straight. HUD is not forcing anyone to do anything. All the rule is saying is if you want HUD money for subsidized housing you have to show you are building that housing in areas with good schools, good transportation, and jobs. Not in the worst part of town, which you then zone into the worst school district. If cities do not want to do that , they do not have to take the money. But the blacks are coming to get your stuff plays better to the GOP base.

“decades of public policies” had contributed to “deeply segregated and unequal neighborhoods”
And that policy was rich white people buy cheap property in the worst part of town, and getting government money to build subsidized housing there. Then everyone in the city fights to make sure that area is not in their school district. So I agree that has to stop. So either make It better or stop taking government money that is the new rule. Hard to do for a taker state like SC. But stop blaming the federal government, and take responsibility for your part in the problem..

The thing is bad parts of town used to be good parts of town.

Eau Claire High School used to be a top school in Columbia until the mid-70’s. Would you consider moving into and sending your kids to that school district now?

That’s called “white flight” and no legislation can prevent it.

Why should white people have to resort to leaving their homes to feel safe and have good schools? Why is the government forcing neighborhoods to change? This is like forced busing from the 70’s which accomplished absolutely nothing but spend taxpayer money.

Don't like reality? Change it June 30, 2015 at 7:18 pm

“But the blacks are coming to get your stuff plays better to the GOP base.”

If you really believe that is what the average GOPer is thinking, you are not in touch with reality.

The reality is that when significant numbers of blacks move into predominantly white neighborhoods, property values drop.

Claims of “racism” don’t change that fact. It just “is”.

So when the Federal government talks about encouraging loans to black families to move into these white neighborhoods, these family aren’t worried “blacks are coming to get” their “stuff”.

They are worried that the value of their houses will drop and the quality of their neighborhood will decline- which is different from your comment, which almost seem hyperbolic.

All the ruling has said is that anyone suspecting a Housing Authority has limited approval to Sect 8 housing to various areas, those opposing it can use the census information to allow them to ask – is the concentration of Sect 8 to low-income census tracts racially motivated. It might not be. It doesn’t mean a Housing Authority is instantly required to change their rational. Only support it.

It’s a special irony that the Clinton’s live in such a community with a statistically insignificant population of blacks yet are considered champions of the black population while Killiary says that we “must also spur us to action and prompt us to question our own assumptions and privilege.”
