By FITSNEWS || A gay marriage showdown is looming in South Carolina after the U.S. Fourth Circuit court of appeals – which struck down Virginia’s ban on same sex marriage earlier this year – denied South Carolina’s bid to suspend a lower court ruling declaring the Palmetto State’s ban unconstitutional.
Last week, U.S. District Court judge Richard Gergel ruled that South Carolina’s gay marriage ban – which was passed by voters in 2006 – was unconstitutional.
Gergel’s ruling indicated that – barring a stay by the fourth circuit – gay marriage in South Carolina could commence on November 20.
That’s noteworthy because South Carolina is currently the only state in the fourth circuit blocking gay marriages.
S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson – who sought the delay – says he will appeal the fourth circuit’s decision to the U.S. Supreme Court, which earlier this year refused to rule on the fourth circuit’s invalidation of the Virginia ban.
Wilson’s logic? A decision from the sixth circuit upholding the right of states to ban gay marriage – which essentially leaves the issue in limbo until the high court rules.
“This issue has not yet been resolved nationally,” Wilson said. “It is still likely the U.S. Supreme Court will address conflicting rulings between federal circuit courts of appeal. Therefore, today’s ruling by the fourth circuit does not end the constitutional obligation of this office to defend South Carolina law. We continue to believe the doctrine of federalism and the Tenth Amendment should allow South Carolina’s unique laws to be considered at the highest appropriate court of appeal. We will be seeking an application to the U.S. Supreme Court for a stay shortly.”

That’s because marriage isn’t a government institution, it’s a religious one – meaning the question should be left to individual congregations.
In fact we view this ongoing legal charade as further evidence of the need to remove government from this debate altogether.

The “marriage is exclusively religious” argument is specious. Marriage certainly exists in the secular world, and has since before the United States – and, in fact, before “religion,” and among non-religious people.
As un-PC as this may seem, Same Sex Marriage bans enacted into state law are not “unconstitutional.” If so, when did they become so?
The Federal Government does not have the power or authority to redefine traditional marriage as between two men or two women, or plural or bigamous or between siblings. All of these marital relationships have at various times been considered socially acceptable, but all have been banned by some States, at various times, for legitimate reasons.
I am not a racist or homophobe. I am a conservative, and as such, I do not support an effort by the Federal Government to redefine traditional societal norms of marriage to respond to recently popular trends, and then allow the Feds to impose this new definition on States that do not share these views, in the name of supremacy or consistency. This is in fact what is unconstitutional.
Gay people should certainly have the right to enter into binding and legally enforcable civil agreements to behave as if married. I have no problem with this. They should have the right to find a Church that will consecrate this union, if that is their choice and belief, if the Church is willing to do so. They can call themselves “married.” What do I care?
But they should not have the right to use Federal Governmental force to impose their recently popular, but non-traditional views on others that do not share these views. This is called tyranny.
Nothing in our highly mobile society prevents a gay person from moving to a State that has come to allow gay marriage through the normal democratic process. When residing in a State that does not, like SC, their marriage should be treated as a civil union and accorded all the rights and privileges of secular marriage. This solves the consistency issue, while leaving marriage “defined” in its traditional sense, in States where the political process has resulted in laws that make this determination.
To the extent that SC law seeks to ban “civil unions” between same sex adults, this should be declared unconstitutional, as it interferes with the right to contract, which is recognized as a federal constitutional right.
Anything else is judicial activism and Federal invasion of State soveriegnty, what’s left of it that is.
Mr. Wilson should be praised for this courageous and principled stand.
And while I am at it, as I expect this counter, how is this stand any different from George Wallace’s odious stand on the steps of the school house in an effort to perpetuate segregation, this is different. The 14th Amendment doomed that position and rendered it legally invalid. Sexual preference is not accorded the same constitutional protection as race. The majority of South Carolinians opposed desegregation, many of the using scripture as the basis for their stance. Fortunately, then as now, the courts made the right decision, dragging this backwards state out of 19th century. It truly is a Great Day in SC!

During the years 390 CE to 395 CE all this changed when Christianity established itself as the only religion in the Roman Empire and launched an all out campaign of religious terror against all other sects.
It was not until the Roman world was forcibly converted, and succumbed to an unforgiving and dictatorship-like form of Christianity (completely unlike the earlier peaceful and loving form of Christianity that had existed for 300 years), that we began to embark upon the Dark Ages.
PERSECUTION OF HOMOSEXUALS BEGINS:
On December 16, 342 AD, the Christian emperors Constantius II and Constans, under advice from their bishops, issued the following edict.. a law specifically outlawing marriages between men, and reads as follows:
“When a man marries in the manner of a woman, a woman about to renounce men, what does he wish, when sex has lost its significance; when the crime is one which it is not profitable to know; when Venus is changed into another form; when love is sought and not found? We order the statutes to arise, the laws to be armed with an avenging sword, that those infamous persons who are now, or who hereafter may be guilty, shall be subjected to exquisite punishment.” (Theodosian Code 9.7.3)
Christian emperors Theodosius and Arcadius on Aug 6, 390, under the advice of their bishops, issued the following edict.. an edict that would begin an evil persecution towards gay people that would last well over a thousand years:
“All persons who have the shameful custom of condemning a man’s body, acting the part of a woman’s to the sufferance of alien sex (for they appear not to be different from women), shall expiate a crime of this kind by being burned to death in the public sight of the people.” -Codex Theodosius IX. Vii. 6
What follows are quotes from the legal code of the Roman Empire as set forth by the Emperor Theodosius at the request of Christian leaders to crush competing religions. The legal persecution of non-Christian religions by Rome marked the beginning of a wave of religious terror that would remain in place until the eighteenth century.
THE BURNING OF NON-CHRISTIAN BOOKS:

LAW BANNING ALL RELIGIONS OTHER THAN CHRISTIANITY:

EDICTS AGAINST NON-CHRISTIAN WORSHIP:
“No one shall consult a soothsayer, astrologer or diviner. The perverse pronouncements of augurs and seers must fall silent. … The universal curiosity about divination must be silent forever. Whosoever refuses obedience to this command shall suffer the penalty of death and be laid low by the avenging sword.” — Codex Theodosianus, IX.16.4
“The ability and right of making wills shall be taken from those who turn from Christians to pagans, and the testament of such an one, if he made any, shall be abrogated after his death.”– Codex Theodosianus, XVI.7.1.
THE DESTRUCTION OF TEMPLES:
“It is decreed that in all places and all cities the [pagan] temples should be closed at once, and after a general warning, the opportunity of sinning be taken from the wicked. We decree also that we shall cease from making sacrifices. And if anyone has committed such a crime, let him be stricken with the avenging sword. And we decree that the property of the one executed shall be claimed by the city, and that rulers of the provinces be punished in the same way, if they neglect to punish such crimes.”– Codex Theodosianus, XVI.10.4.
Thankfully society at large is now freeing itself from the type of self-professed ‘Christians’, who are full of hatred and condemnation towards anyone who doesn’t fit into their narrow view of reality, and who caused the Dark Ages to begin in the first place. Their mind-set is of the same type as those described above. Thankfully as well, more and more ‘true’ Christians have seen the errors of their ways on this issue and now openly and lovingly welcome gay souls and their loved ones, for the unique way that God created them.

Therefore, all people are straight. All people get aroused. Arousal is for reproduction. Reproduction is straight.
It doesn’t matter if you choose not to have sex, or you don’t have sex biologically correctly. You still get aroused. Your body believes it is going to reproduce, and hence, is aroused. You can also get aroused at the prospect of receiving sexual gratification. Which is what happens with LGBT. They’re not actually sexually attracted to the same sex, but the sexual pleasure they offer them, the companionship, and that’s about it.
