Clemson University has scored the No. 9 class in the nation for 2016, according to Perfect Game . Leading the way? A pair of infielders ranked among the Top 25 overall recruits in America – Cornelius Randolph (of Griffin, Georgia) and Jalen Miller (of Atlanta, Georgia).  These Peach State standouts are ranked No. 12 and No. 23 nationally, according to the publication.

The Tigers have signed ten players for 2016 – and are expected to add two additional players next year.

Only one of the Tigers’ current 2016 signees – Simpsonville infielder Grant Cox – is from South Carolina.

Clemson is entering its 22nd season under head coach Jack Leggett, who has amassed 1,300 career victories (including 923 with the Tigers).  The program is looking for its first trip to the College World Series since 2010 – when it was eliminated by eventual national champion (and arch-rival) South Carolina.

Anyway, props to Leggett and the Tigers for their success on the recruiting trail …

Good luck to them, except for when they play USC anyways.

Recruiting rankings for college baseball is mostly a crapshoot. Wait til the MLB draft. See who is left standing.

Anybody that pays attention to class rankings before the kids actually enroll doesn’t understand college baseball.
