MARYLAND GOVERNOR NEEDS TO WAKE UP …

Next to Hillary Clinton, Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley is the Democratic Party’s top prospect for the 2016 presidential election.  In fact the hottest rumor inside the Beltway is that “Maryland’s Mob” (a.k.a. Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, O’Malley, Chris Van Hollen, et. al.) is working overtime to sabotage Clinton’s candidacy before it gets off the ground.

All so O’Malley can claim the Democratic nomination …

Against the backdrop of Clinton’s presumed coronation, O’Malley’s been keeping a busy 2016 schedule – with trips to early-voting Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

“O’Malley persists in behaving like a man who is actually running for president,” Matt Bai recently wrote for Yahoo! News . “So what exactly does he know ? or think he knows ? that the rest of us don’t?”

Good question …

If O’Malley is going to knock off Clinton, though, the uber liberal is going to have to wake up … and we don’t mean figuratively.

According to The (Maryland) Daily Record , O’Malley fell asleep during a Board of Public Works meeting over wetlands permits – which royally pissed off the people who showed up for the event.

“I’ve been asking for a meeting with the governor for months,” an activist who attended the event told the paper. “In lieu of that, I was given a meeting with his energy director. Finally I got the chance to look him in the eye. As I patiently explained to him why we were opposed to this, his eyelids dropped and he fell asleep. I don’t feel like he heard our message.”

Did O’Malley have a late night?  Local blogger Jeff Quinton has previously chronicled the Maryland governor’s nocturnal exploits, so it’s possible he was compensating for some after-hours fun.

Whatever the case, word to the wise: You can’t win votes if you’re passed out …

If you want to fight eyelid fatigue, blink rapidly and focus on a different object each time you blink. 5 sets of 15 seconds.

Other than that, Hillary is backing off and Warren is filling the void. Her is Warren’s base resonating 11 Commandments:

“We believe that Wall Street needs stronger rules and tougher enforcement, and we’re willing to fight for it.”

“We believe in science, and that means that we have a responsibility to protect this Earth.”

“We believe that the Internet shouldn’t be rigged to benefit big corporations, and that means real net neutrality.”

“We believe that no one should work full-time and still live in poverty, and that means raising the minimum wage.”

“We believe that fast-food workers deserve a livable wage, and that means that when they take to the picket line, we are proud to fight alongside them.”

“We believe that students are entitled to get an education without being crushed by debt.”

“We believe that after a lifetime of work, people are entitled to retire with dignity, and that means protecting Social Security, Medicare, and pensions.”

“We believe—I can’t believe I have to say this in 2014—we believe in equal pay for equal work.”

“We believe that equal means equal, and that’s true in marriage, it’s true in the workplace, it’s true in all of America.”

“We believe that immigration has made this country strong and vibrant, and that means reform.”

“And we believe that corporations are not people, that women have a right to their bodies. We will overturn Hobby Lobby and we will fight for it. We will fight for it!”

Pelosi is from California, not MD. And you’re ignoring Elizabeth Warren. Still, O’Malley is attractive to party leaders for the same reason Obama was. http://www.thewatchlog.com/2014/07/22/the-man-who-is-not-president
