Anderson, SC- South Carolina Congressman Jeff Duncan announced Wednesday that Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) will be the keynote speaker at his annual Faith & Freedom BBQ held on August 25th at the Anderson Civic Center. Duncan, a two-term Congressman from Laurens is holding the event for the fourth year. Previous speakers have included Senators Jim DeMint, Tim Scott, Rand Paul, and former SCGOP Chairman Chad Connelly.

“I’m honored to have a solid conservative like Senator Rubio come to South Carolina to headline this event,” said Duncan. “Senator Rubio shares South Carolina’s values of limited government and individual liberty, and I’m looking forward to having him visit our state.”

Senator Marco Rubio served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008 and was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010. He currently serves on the Commerce, Science and Transportation; Foreign Relations; Intelligence; and Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committees. He and his wife, Jeanette, have four young children and live in West Miami.

Last year’s event drew a crowd of just under 1,000 and attracted the attention of the national media. Duncan said this year’s the event will place an added emphasis on honoring veterans. “Without our veterans, we wouldn’t have any freedom to celebrate. We owe them everything, and it’s important for us to honor them both with our words and our actions.”

Tickets for the event go on sale starting today. The cost to attend is $25 a person, $40 a couple, with children under 12 eating for free. As part of the event’s emphasis on honoring members of the Armed Forces, veterans, active duty personnel, reservists, guardsmen, and their families will be able to attend the event free of charge.

Jeff was just on Facebook demanding that the President build the Border Fence. I guess he wants Obama to do it since the Republicans had years to get it done but didn’t. Now he’s having a BBQ with Marco Rubio who has voted against border security measures. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/06/18/Rubio-I-support-border-security-fence-so-I-voted-against-it This sort of hypocrisy is the reason why people are leaving the Republican Party in droves.

Mett’s can’t wait to hire them for a dollar per hour. Go figure corporate Republicans in SC ” AKA work for almost nothing, or a right to work state ” which ever sounds better !

Marco Rubio is a Pro-Amnesty RINO looking to pull the wool over the eyes of up-state conservatives before Rand Paul and Rick Perry can get them all locked up. No in in Florida is going to vote for him for President, Senator or Dog Catcher. Why should we.

At first, I thought the headline read Jeff DUNHAM. I Figured Jeff was looking for a twin to his Jalapeno on a Stick.

I think that means that they have faith that if they just keep talking about freedom and other buzz words that no one will notice they aren’t saying anything and will vote for them. Plus, they know that when it comes to faith vs evidence, evidence doesn’t stand a chance.
