Geiza Vargas-Vargas, a favorite professor of students at the Charleston School of Law (CSOL), is leaving the institution.

Vargas-Vargas taught students law related to business associations, contracts, mergers, acquisitions, international finance and capital acquisitions. She is a graduate of Wellesley College who received her law degree from Boston College.

Prior to coming to Charleston in 2009, she was a corporate lawyer at the New York firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom.

Students described Vargas-Vargas as a “bad ass” who pushed her students to succeed and was “ruthless” with anyone who showed up for class unprepared.

Which sounds muy caliente

She was also well known on campus for her fabulous collection of high-heeled shoes … also, muy caliente.

So … why is Vargas-Vargas leaving?

It’s not immediately clear, although we wouldn’t be surprised if it had something to do with the pending sale of the institution to “diploma mill” InfiLaw – a move opposed by overwhelming majorities of CSOL professors, staff, alumni and students.
