TIGER STANDOUT LISTED AS TENTH BEST PLAYER IN AMERICA
Clemson, SC—Vic Beasley is listed as the 10th best player in the nation, third among defensive players by the Sporting News in its Pre-Spring Practice ranking. The rising senior is one of just three 2013 Consensus All-Americans returning for the 2014 season.
The only defensive players ranked ahead of Beasley by the Sporting News are Leonard Williams of Southern California, and Rand Gregory of Nebraska. He is also third among ACC players, trailing only Jameis Winston and Cameron Erving of Florida State.
Last year Beasley was a consensus All-American and first-team All-ACC defensive end. He had 23 tackles for loss and 13 sacks to help Clemson lead the nation in tackles for loss as a team and rank 13th in sacks per game. His 23 sacks in 13 games ranked second in the nation on a per game basis and his sacks per game figure ranked third best. He was also tied for 10th in the nation in caused fumbles with four.
The native of Adairsville, GA made an incredible improvement last year. As a sophomore in 2012, Beasley played just 288 snaps and did not start a game, but he had eight sacks to lead the Clemson team. Then this year he started every game on Clemson’s 11-2 team that finished the season seventh in the nation.
Winston, Stanford all-purpose player Ty Montgomery, and Beasley are the only three returning consensus All-Americans from last year.

Dirtpecker forums are in their typical the sky is falling panic because this is going to reduce their overall recruiting class ranking. But it’s no secret that Dirtpecker fans tend to overreact.
I guess that’s to be expected when you recruit borderline retards who aren’t college material and have been pushed through high school through social promotion and because the football coach says so. The world needs ditch diggers too, but at Dirtpecker U. (and other colleges) they rename it Sociology; African American Studies; Sports Management; or Exercise Science majors. How many football players are Accounting; Engineering; Nursing; or Pre-Med/Pre-Law majors? When someone has to ask, “what do you do with a major in ___________?” it’s a worthless degree.
