Cahaly Lieutenant Running Connor’s US Senate Campaign
Julie Emerson – a top lieutenant of ethically challenged “Republican” political consultant Robert Cahaly – is running the U.S. Senate bid of Orangeburg attorney and Afghan War veteran Bill Connor.
What makes this relationship curious?
Four years ago, Cahaly ran the campaign of Connor’s opponent in the “Republican” lieutenant gubernatorial primary – the same guy who later pleaded guilty to campaign finance fraud and resigned his seat in disgrace.
Connor reported raising $256,333 during the fourth quarter of 2013 on his U.S. Senate bid – although the lion’s share of that came in the form of a $210,000 contribution to himself.
Emerson – pictured here – works for New Orleans-based Lagniappe Communications Group.
“Surely this means Robert is involved,” one veteran GOP operative told FITS.
Connor is one of four candidates challenging incumbent liberal U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (RINO-S.C.). The others are Lowcountry businesswoman Nancy Mace, Upstate businessman (and former congressional candidate) Richard Cash and S.C. Sen. Lee Bright.
