Clemson, S.C. – Retired Circuit Court Judge and Clemson University graduate, Gary Clary, announced his intentions to seek the Republican nomination for South Carolina House District 3.

Clary said, “I have not entered into this decision lightly. Many from within House District 3 have encouraged me to consider representing them in Columbia and after much consideration I am announcing my intent to file for South Carolina House District 3 when the filing period opens in March.”

“I am running because I believe it is time for us to turn the page, to put past disagreements aside and move forward with a new voice”, said Clary. “I have been encouraged by the tremendous outpouring of support from the community and am looking forward to the opportunity to earn the voter’s trust, confidence, and ultimately, their vote in the June primary. I offer conservative principles, a commitment to public service and a belief that together, we can improve the lives of our citizens, create opportunities and ensure a positive future for District 3.”

Gary and his wife Pat live in Pickens County. Gary is a member of the Rotary Club of Clemson, Fort Hill Clemson Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and at Clemson United Methodist Church where he serves as Chairperson of the Staff-Parish Relations Committee as well as the Church Council and Finance Committee. Gary is also a proud member of the Clemson Alumni Association Board of Directors.

His sister is married to David Wilkins, who got Clary on the bench but couldn’t get him onthe supreme court. Clary’s a loser trying to do something without Wilkins’s help
