U.S. President Barack Obama will deliver his sixth State of the Union address in Washington, D.C. this evening … but will anyone be watching? And assuming they are, will they be receptive to his agenda?
Viewership for Obama’s annual address to Congress has plummeted precipitously since 52.4 million Americans tuned in for his first State of the Union in 2009. Last year only 33.5 million Americans watched Obama’s address – the second-lowest total since Nielsen began tracking the data in 1993.
Obama is in real trouble heading into 2014 …
According to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released this week, 51 percent of Americans disapprove of the president’s performance in office compared to 43 percent who approve. Among modern presidents, only George W. Bush had worse numbers heading into his sixth year in office.
Underscoring Obama’s problems, 33 percent of those surveyed said they are “pessimistic and worried” about how he will do over the remainder of his term. Another 26 percent were “uncertain and wondering.” A year ago those numbers stood at 27 and 21 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, only 16 percent of respondents said they were “optimistic and confident” about Obama’s remaining time in office – down from 24 percent last year.
Frankly, we can’t believe Obama’s numbers are as good as they are …
For starters, his economic “recovery” has been exclusively confined to the super-wealthy, with the top 1 percent of American earners seeing their incomes rise by 31.4 percent between 2009 and 2012. Everybody else? Their income growth was stagnant …
And this guy wants to lecture us on wealth equality?
Please … Obama has built his cult of personality on being a “middle class hero,” but the numbers expose him for what he is: A “Middle Class Zero.” He’s also been a disaster for the working poor.
Oh … and then there’s the fact he’s spying on us. And lying about it.

Not me. Various media with sift through his bullshit and highlight the “important” points the day after.
My life is too busy for the nonsense of sitting down to watch Comrade Obama tell me the new 3 or 4 Dictats he’s going to issue to make everything “better”. (in addition to the 40,000 other laws on the books to “make my life better”)
Ok, so I made a mistake…the media is reporting 11 or 12 Diktat’s…not 3 or 4…my bad…I was being optimistic.
I’ll never make that mistake again.

State of the Union speeches are useless and should just be retired. People who are informed know a helluva lot more than what some stupid speech is going to tell them (which undoubtedly redacts anything that the sitting president would rather stay mum on, especially regarding things that would piss off his own supporters), and people who aren’t won’t watch anyways. It only serves to allow the corporate media to masturbate over trivial bullshit for a day. What a waste.
I’ll continue my tradition of watching paint dry instead.

In 2008, she was the ONLY one to call him out on Rezko and his Chi-town third rate alderman lack of professional background.
