Clemson was ranked #13 in the nation in Baseball America’s 2014 preseason ranking, released on Monday. Virginia was atop the Baseball America ranking, followed by #2 Oregon State, #3 Indiana, #4 Cal State Fullerton, and #5 N.C. State.

Other ACC teams ranked in the top 25 include #6 Florida State, #16 Miami (FL), and #17 North Carolina, giving the ACC six of the top-17 teams. No other conference had more than four schools in the top 17. In December, Collegiate Baseball ranked the Tigers #21 in its preseason poll.

Clemson had a 40-22 overall record in 2013 and returns eight of nine positions starters along with 77 percent of its innings pitched. The Tigers open the 2014 season against Eastern Michigan at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on February 14 at 4:00 PM.
