Now a much more diminutive (but no less influential) public figure has been pulled over on a South Carolina interstate: S.C. Senate finance committee chairman Hugh Leatherman.
According to our sources Leatherman – arguably the most powerful politician in the Palmetto State – was stopped in his pearl colored Cadillac Escalade heading westbound on Interstate 20 at mile marker 88 (in Kershaw County). The stop occurred on Friday evening at around 6:30 p.m. EST.
This is the same stretch of highway where Boyd was pulled over doing 84 miles per hour in a 70 miles per hour zone.
Calls to the S.C. Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) regarding the disposition of Leatherman’s traffic stop were not immediately returned, but we’re gonna go out on a limb and guess that he didn’t get a ticket.

When the policeman asked why he was speeding he politely told him “I appropriated the money for this road, sold the contractor the concrete, and was screwing his wife at the same time, so as far as I know, I own this road and will drive as I please. And by the way, you just lost your job and your pension!”

When he went to his car in the parking garage he discovered that it had been broken into and his apple crate was missing
The Capital Police constructed a make shift booster seat out of some old State Budget Manuals. However it didn’t function as well as his apple crate and Leatherpecker’s ass kept slipping off the Manuals pushing his foot further down on the accelerator until he could crawl back up on top of his makeshift booster seat
