Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina Republican Party, in partnership with the Republican National Committee, is pleased to announce the hiring of Hope Walker, who will serve as State Director for South Carolina. In this position, Hope will oversee get-out-the-vote operations in South Carolina and implement a person-to-person grassroots organizing program. Under the RNC’s new model, the party’s ground game will be built from the bottom-up, with staff and volunteers focused on communicating and engaging with voters at the precinct level.

“Hope’s expertise and experience will be invaluable as we move toward victories in 2014 and beyond,” said SCGOP Chairman Matt Moore. “We’re making a commitment to have the Republican Party organized in every community across South Carolina and I’m confident Hope will build a winning operation. South Carolina is a solid red state – but we must work hard to keep it that way.”

“Heading into 2014 the RNC is on the ground organizing in neighborhoods across the country earlier than we’ve ever done before,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “We are working with state parties and campaigns to build an infrastructure that will help us take back the Senate, keep the House and elect Republican governors, while laying the foundation for success in 2016. With our historic ground game investments we’re on a path to victory.”

Hope Walker is from Irmo and is a 2011 graduate of Newberry College with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a double minor in History and Spanish where she was active as Student Body President. Hope has experience in various areas of the South Carolina Republican Party, most recently as Political Director and as Member Services Director in the 2012 election cycle. She has served on multiple boards within the SCGOP and is knowledgeable and engaged in state party politics.

Yikes, that one’s far less flattering. Still, better than Haley at least.

Any experience at this in those 24 years? Guessing they’re not worried about losing any elections in SC.
