Jeff Duncan Statement On 9/11, Benghazi Anniversary

“As we pause to remember the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and the one-year anniversary of the terrorist attack in Benghazi, we are reminded that there are some in this world who seek to destroy freedom and our very way of life.” “From Benghazi to New York, from Pennsylvania…

“As we pause to remember the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and the one-year anniversary of the terrorist attack in Benghazi, we are reminded that there are some in this world who seek to destroy freedom and our very way of life.”

“From Benghazi to New York, from Pennsylvania to the Pentagon, terrorists cowardly attacked innocents in an attempt to terrorize our people and force our country to bend to their will. The terrorists failed to break our resolve, and our nation showed that freedom would always persevere.”

“America is a nation filled with heroes, and on the anniversary of 9/11 we remember our armed forces and first responders who embody the best of what our country has to offer. Part of what makes these individuals heroes is their willingness to place the needs of others before themselves. As a country, we should honor their sacrifice and commitment to others by upholding the promises made by our government, and by ensuring that those who lost their lives receive the justice they deserve.”

“That is why it is unacceptable that a year after the Benghazi attack that the perpetrators have not been brought to justice, and that the country still does not have a clear picture of what took place. Our nation’s response to this attack fails to honor the memory of those who lost their lives. I reaffirm my commitment to uncovering the truth behind what took place, and continue my call for a select committee to fully investigate the events before, during, and after the attack in Benghazi. It is my belief that only through a select committee will we be able to fully investigate this tragic event, and give the families and the public the closure and accountability they deserve.”

It’s apparent that only Duncan, for political reasons, is thinking about the Benghazi “First Anniversary”. As Hillary Clinton and others told Duncan, a former auctioneer, to “GET OVER IT”. It’s apparent that Duncan is a political lap dawg of duhmint and company. Shouldn’t Mr. “I played football at Clemson under Danny Ford”;FOR ONLY A YEAR DUNCAN AS A MEMBER OF THE SCOUT TEAM, be reminded of his rather dubious curricula vitae since he enjoys pounding away at nothing. He is boring, ill informed and way over his head in Washington. Isn’t rather embarrassing for someone of his ilk representing South Carolina. Oh pardon me we do have other embarrassments such as Sanford up there as well. I guess you get what you vote for.

Just two questions Mr. Duncan. Did you serve in the military or our you of those “CHICKEN HAWKS” in Washington? Come clean Duncan just who are you?

I find it offensive that this “great American” is using this anniversary for a political opportunity. Maybe he could check on why we did not know the Japanese Navy was coming to bomb Pearl Harbor while he is investigating. It is unacceptable after 62 years that we do not have an answer to this question

It’s always interesting to me that many politicians wait until they see which way the wind is blowing before they come out with their “hard-liner statements.”

When I think of 9/11, I think of the overly oppressive NSA programs, the fact that we are still in Afghanistan, the fact that we still torture people, that the TSA has continued to expand despite horrifying abuses and glaring holes in airport security, etc. I think of how utterly oppressive things are becoming for the American people, how privacy is evaporating right before our eyes, and how both Republicans and Democrats have contributed to that, how they have refused to stop making it worse, and how they have outright promised they were against it and then made a complete 180 when it came down to votes. I think of the amount of deficit spending spent on all of this crap that did very little in helping the American people and very much in hurting them. How the terrorists we are hunting could never do what we have done to ourselves.

Jeff Duncan thinks of political opportunism in the form of a scandal that you can’t watch Fox News for 30 minutes without hearing it mentioned.

Jeff, while you are investigating Benghazi, there are a few other incidents I think equally worthy of investigation.

1. On Jan. 22, 2002, five policemen were killed and 16 people injured in the eastern Indian city of Calcutta when members of Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami attacked the U.S. consulate there. The state department had received warnings of anti-American activity by this group in the weeks leading up to the attack.

2. On June 14, 2002 a suicide Car-Bomb exploded outside the U.S. Consulate in Karachi, Pakistan. Twelve people died and 51 were seriously injured. The Taliban claimed responsibility. Two hired guards, a Marine, and five Pakistani staff members were among the injured in the attack that cam days after a visit by Donald Rumsfeld.

3. On Oct. 12, 2002 a string bombs exploded in Bali. The US consulate in Indonesia was attacked in conjunction with the ‘Bali bombings’. In total seven Americans and 202 non-Americans were killed.

4. On Feb. 28, 2003 Gunmen rode up on a motorbike to the U.S. consulate’s security checkpoints in Karachi, Pakistan and killed two Pakistani police officers. One gunman arrested by was found to have several rounds of ammunition prepared for what could have been a far more devastating attack.

5. On May 12, 2003 36 People including 9 Americans died when terrorists stormed U.S. state department compounds in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The State Department was warned of a potential strike against Americans days before the attack. Yet, somehow, gunmen managed to infiltrated the Al Hamra Oasis Village and two others killing resulting in the 36 deaths and leaving160 wounded.

6. On July 30, 2004 Islamist Attacked the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Two Uzbek security guards died in the bombing. The Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan claimed responsibility of the bombing.

7. On Dec. 6, 2004 Five Staff and Four Security Guard died when gunman fought their way into the U.S. consulate Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

8. On March 2, 2006, the US Consulate in Karachi was attacked for a third time.
U.S. Diplomat David Foy was specifically targeted in the attack. He was one of four people killed.

9. On Sept. 12, 2006: Four terrorists stormed the U.S. compound in Damascus, Syria and fired on Syrian security officers guarding the U.S. embassy. Four Syrian guards charged with defending the compound were killed.

10. On March 18, 2008, a mortar was fired into U.S. Embassy in Sana’a, Yemen killing 19 people and injuring 16. This was the second attempt at a similar mortar attack on the embassy. The first one missed the embassy and hit a girls’ school next door.

11. On July 9, 2008, three Turkish policemen were killed when four gunman attacked the U.S. Consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.

12. On Sept. 17, 2008 16 People including 2 Americans were killed in yet another attack on the U.S. Embassy Sana’a, Yemen.

Unless of course Faux News has investigated and declared these scandal free.
