We’ve got very little use for “Republican” wannabes like perpetual candidate Bill Connor of Orangeburg, S.C. For those of you unfamiliar with this guy, Connor is a Bible-thumping moralist with a history of personal hypocrisy and precious little policy substance.
Sure he’s an Afghan War veteran – which he wears on his sleeve like no one we’ve ever seen – but he’s also a raging “neoconservative” who supports all manner of unnecessary American military interventionism.
Anyway, as much as it pains us to do so, we’ve got to give Connor rare props on something – specifically his response to the murder of an 88-year-old World War II veteran by a pair of African-American thugs in Spokane, Washington.
For those of you who missed this story, 88-year-old Delbert Belton – who was wounded in the Battle of Okinawa – was beaten and left for dead by a pair of black teenagers as he headed into a pool hall on Wednesday night. He died as a result of his injuries yesterday morning.
Here’s what Connor had to say about that on his Facebook page …
Will be interesting to see if President (Barack) Obama follows suit from the Zimmerman trial by speaking out: “If I had a son he would look like Trayvon”. Two African-American teens murder an Australian athlete after tweeting horrendously racist quotes. Not a peep from the President and his spokesman claims they will not speak. Now one of our remaining WWII heroes is murdered in cold blood by another two African-American teens. I don’t suppose the President will speak about this as well. I don’t suppose the President will ever speak to the fact that none of these killers was raised by an intact family and in their demographic 74% of all babies are born to single parents. Oh, I know I’m being extremely politically incorrect in this facebook posting, but I’m sick and tired the lies and ignoring of the truth. This violence/crime is all about the breakdown of the American family, the assault and fatherhood/manhood, and the lack of facing responsibility. I will no longer stay quiet about the truth after the murder of this American Icon.

Given his personal history, Connor would be wise not to lecture others on the “breakdown of the American family,” but his diagnosis of the root hypocrisy demonstrated by Obama (and his allies in the liberal media) in responding to racially motivated violence is accurate.
Equality means just that … equality. For all people. It does not mean selective demonization or selective justification.
Murder is murder. White or black – it’s equally immoral, a violation of our first and most basic liberty (the right to life). And when murders are committed on the basis of age, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, there’s a fair argument to make that it’s even worse.
But our guess is you won’t see poverty pimps like Al Sharpton making a trip to Spokane, Washington anytime soon to mourn the loss of Delbert Benton.

As another veteran, I demand Obama make his fleeting comments about how those two teens look like him or he could look them or whatever that racist gasbag has to say. Because these are a sign of the wicked low-life mindset that inundates our airwaves and our pop culture.
