Former S.C. First Lady Jenny Sanford – a multimillionaire whose family fortune and ostensible free market philosophy helped elevate her husband Mark Sanford’s career – now wants to take a six-figure government-funded job in Charleston, S.C.
Specifically, Sanford is making her pitch for the president’s position at the College of Charleston (a.k.a. the “College of Knowledge”).
“I would be crazy not to look at the job,” Sanford told The (Charleston, S.C.) Post and Courier.

Sanford – who turned the role of “scorned wife” into a cottage industry following her husband’s famous extramarital affair – tried unsuccessfully earlier this year to torpedo his campaign for the S.C. first congressional district seat.
We hope her efforts to win this job are similarly unsuccessful …
In fact as far as we’re concerned the sooner she heads back to Chicago (or Winnetka or wherever the hell it is she came from) the better off the Palmetto State will be.

She is extremely bright, has IQ 180 and has great managerial abilities. Look at her resume. She worked at Wall street and became Vice-President of the bank at age 27. That’s quite a feat for a young woman back in the early eighties.
She also managed her ex-husband’s (an unknown man) campaign.
As Mark said once, “anything she does, she does well!”

So in other words, even though she had the money… all it takes is a man to tell her what she can do with it. Yeah, that’s what you want in a college president. She’ll have Student Body committee members telling her how to run the school and she’ll do it.
She probably felt at the time that she was earning or keeping her husband’s regard by having an appreciation for frugality and other priorities like family. Not her fault her ex pulled the rug out from under her with his deceptions. She has at least remained consistent in her priorities.

He had numerous good ideas but the governor of SC is nothing but a figurehead for Democrats and what I mean by that most of the so called Republicans in our legislature are Democrats and changed to Republican to get elected. I am not a personal friend,never met her but have had direct contact with her several times and I found her to be up front and very truthful. I have always supported Mark Sanford and still do. I do not like the way he handled his marriage but I have always liked the way he he performed even though I disagree at times with him. I personally think government can be helped by both of them!

I’m qualified because I dissected a toad in high school.

Miss Sanford’s interest is not near so bizarre as the career house member who announced he has been asked to consider it. I could not think of one sane person who would admit in public that he put him up to it. To say he is woefully unqualified for any known academic position would be a first class understatement.
