Devon Thurman is ineligible for our hottest lawyer competition this year. How come? She’s not a lawyer yet …

She is, however, well on her way to becoming a staple in our competition. The University of South Carolina Honors College student – a native of Simpsonville, S.C. – is currently serving as Attorney General of USC’s student government. Last year, Thurman was president of the mock trial team at USC. A former intern in the office of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, she is currently working as a legal assistant in the office of Columbia, S.C. attorney Kenneth E. Berger.

Oh … she’s also a pageant girl, previously holding the titles of Miss Jasper County and Miss Golden Strip.

“Devon is one of the brightest minds at USC and will have a bright future in law,” a source at the school tells us.

Good for her …

And good for our competition … which looks as though it will also have a “bright future.”

Anyway, this is another reminded that there are only a few day left to submit nominations for our hot lawyer competition (a.k.a. the 2013 Alicia Florrick Award). How do you do that? Easy: Confidentially email us with a picture of your nominee (or a link to their official webpage). Or you can submit their information through our tip wire. Or if you’d like, you can just post their name/ link in the comments section below …
