Charleston, SC – March 26, 2013 – The Sanford for Congress campaign’s momentum continued to build today, as former 1st District candidate Jonathan Hoffman endorsed Mark Sanford.

A native South Carolinian, Hoffman is an entrepreneur, educator, homeland security expert and reserve military officer. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, former Director at the White House Homeland Security Council, and a Captain with the U.S. Air Force Reserves. Hoffman has been in public service for over 10 years.

“During the primary campaign, I consistently talked with voters about the need for the 1st District to elect an experienced conservative leader who understands that our greatest threat as a nation comes not from without, but from our own debt and deficits,” Hoffman said. “Not only does Mark understand that, he has a clear record in Congress and as Governor of working to address this threat with meaningful spending cuts and standing up to special interests.”

Sanford thanked Hoffman for the endorsement.

“Jonathan has a great understanding of the issues that face our nation, and an incredible record of service to our country, so it’s a real honor to have his support,” Sanford said. “Jonathan is correct when he talks about our greatest threat comes from our nation’s unsustainable financial course. I believe what I bring to the table is very consistent record of looking for ways to control government growth and standing against spending. I appreciate Jonathan’s willingness to help us push that message forward during this critical runoff period and throughout the general election.”

What the hell is a homeland security expert?

So what, is he going to grope me when I meet him? Or will I get lucky and he’ll just shoot me with a hollow point?

If he’s a friend of Sanfraud’s I’ll probably be unlucky and get groped.
