Haley Speech: All That?
NOT ACCORDING TO FOX VIEWERS
The reaction of national and state pundits to S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley’s big speech at the Republican National Convention earlier this week has been predominantly positive. In fact even this website – no friend of Haley’s – gave the governor some credit for her performance.
Of course pointed out several of its obvious hypocrisies … and more importantly we remain the only news outlet in the state reporting on the exorbitant price our state had to pay in order to give the governor her moment in the national spotlight (a price we’ll be paying decades after Haley has left office).
Anyway … Haley clearly did well with the pundits and the crowd, but what about the national audience she was seeking to reach with her speech? How did they receive her remarks?
Less enthusiastically, it would appear. In fact according to an unscientific poll of Fox News viewers, Haley had one of the worst speeches of the night. Take a look …

Obviously, the fact that Haley isn’t as widely known as some of the other names on that list makes a big difference – but then again who had heard of Mia Love or former U.S. Rep. Artur Davis until this week?
As far as we’re concerned how “well” or “poorly” Haley did during her speech is irrelevant. It’s her record we will continue to focus on. Seriously, a tapestry of the finest Indian silk could have come streaming out of Haley’s mouth as she spoke and it wouldn’t change the fact she sold our state down the river in exchange for fifteen (actually ten) minutes of fame.
Just like we predicted …
