SC STATE SENATOR NEEDS TO RELOCATE HIS PRIORITIES …
No offense to S.C. Sen. Lee Bright, but if we were in his shoes we would probably be spending the legislative “offseason” working to get our business back on its feet … or paying back all the people we owed money to.
What’s Bright doing instead, though?
Taking his wife and daughter to Salt Lake City, Utah for a meeting of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) – a group that he has frequently reimbursed with campaign funds in the past. And while we don’t expect Bright to get freaky in the heart of Utah the way S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley did, the fact that he’s taking this trip in the first place disappoints us.
Not only does Bright still owe the taxpayers money (nearly $10,000, as of last month), but he also has reportedly been delinquent in paying his campaign debts as well. That’s why it’s a little disheartening to see him posting pictures of his wife and daughter heading out for a shopping excursion on their campaign-funded vacation …

Mmmm-hmmm.
Unlike a lot of people at the S.C. State House, we have no problem with Lee Bright – in fact, this website has consistently kissed his ass up one side and down the other given the fact that his voting record is unimpeachable when it comes to the fiscal issues that are important to us.
That’s why we will continue to kiss his ass, too (as long as he keeps voting the right way) … but we’re not going to hold back when we believe he deserves to be criticized, and in this case he deserves to be criticized.
Bright is sending the wrong message by attending this utterly pointless conference on his donors’ dime. In our opinion, he needs to be at home taking care of his business – not taking campaign-funded junkets like Ken Ard.
