U.S. Vice President Joe Biden is coming to Charleston, S.C. this week for an exclusive fundraiser at the home of a wealthy trial lawyer.
Biden will appear at the Charleston, S.C. home of personal injury lawyer Mark Tanenbaum – a prominent Democratic campaign “bundler.”
S.C. Democratic Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian is said to be assisting with fundraising efforts for the event – which is expected to raise $150,000 for the reelection campaign of U.S. President Barack Obama.
Biden was in Charleston last month en route to an Easter weekend vacation on Kiawah Island – a visit that snarled traffic in the Holy City. Last September he attended a similarly exclusive fundraiser at the Charleston Place Hotel.
While Biden has made plenty of South Carolina stops, his boss still hasn’t visited the Palmetto State – even though it was recently listed as a “swing state” by former GOP presidential advisor Karl Rove.
Will that change before the 2012 election?
