Washington, D.C. is full of girls gone wild … just ask our founding editor Will Folks (a.k.a. Sic Willie), who regularly brought his pimp stroll to our nation’s capital back in his single days. Unfortunately, the Girls Gone Wild franchise will not be bringing its “hottest girl in America” to Capitol Hill this year.

According to a press release from the company, Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis recently bought a “once-in-a-lifetime four-week internship on Capitol Hill working for a United States Senator.” This internship was even added to a prize package for the company’s “hottest girl in America” competition.

Pretty cool, right?

Yes … or at least it would have been. A spokesman for U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Arkansas) – the Senator in question – told The Arkansas Times that the whole thing was a put-up and that no internship in the Senator’s office had been purchased at auction.

Bummer, right?

So … what gives?

Who knows … as far as we can tell the whole thing is cheap publicity for Francis’ “hottest girl” competition, which has scheduled its big reveal for May 3.
