Given America’s new place in the world, this website has consistently advocated that our nation refrain from entangling itself in unnecessary foreign conflicts …
When other nations attack America, however, we believe that the offending regime (or the regime which coddles offending terrorists) should be blown off of the face of the earth … a process that ought to be short on troops but long on bombs (including the “big one,” if necessary).
U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (RINO-SC), on the other hand, believes in perpetual warmongering involving American soldiers … everywhere, all the time … which is why literally every time you turn the Sunday morning talk shows he’s whoring for the military industrial complex.
Such a tough guy, right?
Anyway, Alex Pareene over at Salon has written a nice piece calling Graham out for his predictable advocacy on behalf of taxpayer-funded global policing.
Along with U.S. Senators John “Bomb Iran” McCain and Joe Lieberman, Graham is derided as being one of the Senate’s “most predictable and least credible warmongering ‘moderates,’” as well as a “war-crazed amigo.”
“If you don’t like waging wars everywhere, forever, you are a weird kooky hippie, and everyone laughs at you,” Pareene writes. “If you believe that bombs and troops have the power to magically solve all problems, you are invited on all the Sunday shows every week to offer your sober analysis of the foreign situation.”
Nice …
Don’t get us wrong, we’re all for raining disproportionate fire against legitimate enemies … we just think it’s reckless to put our troops in harm’s way over dubious intelligence simply because an effeminate, fiscally liberal U.S. Senator is scared of a primary challenge in his home state and needs an issue that reminds the local citizenry of the fact that he’s a “Republican.”
It is not America’s job to make the world safe for democracy. It is America’s job to secure and defend its own borders.
“Miss Lindsey” needs to recognize that …
