We’ve always been big fans of The Politico. And we’ve never noticed that the website had a liberal bent. Of course unlike a lot of folks, we don’t wrap ourselves around the axle when it comes to trying to figure out where certain news outlets are coming from.
We read each and every web page that comes across our desks as its own blurb, and try and make a determination regarding its content independent of who wrote it … although there are certain publications (i.e. The State newspaper) that do demonstrate a pretty consistent leftward bent.
And certain networks – i.e. FOX News – that do demonstrate a pretty consistent conservative bent.
Anyway, apparently The Politico does have a liberal bent, though, and apparently that liberal bent is costing the website its readers – at least according to The Daily Caller, a website with a “conservative bent.”
“Measurements of U.S. Web traffic provided to The Daily Caller by Compete, Inc. indicate that the number of total monthly visits to Politico.com dropped by 31.8 percent during the 18-month period that ended on October 31,” the website reports.
The website, however, claims that it is receiving 60 million page views a month and between 8-11 million unique visitors.
That’s pretty impressive …
Here at FITS, we get about 1.5 million page views a month … which ain’t bad when you consider our content is pretty much generated by one guy with a laptop. Also, we’re not sure what our “bent” is … other than we make no bones about being an opinion-driven site that from time to time just happens to break news.
“Unfair, Imbalanced,” people … says so at the top of every page.
