“On The Spot” with Mande Wilkes took on a whole new meaning this week …

The Myrtle Beach, S.C. political talk show – which airs every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on WPDE TV 15 (ABC – Florence-Myrtle Beach, S.C.) – is generating some controversy after its host experienced what appears to have been a ‘Basic Instinct’ moment.

Here’s the clip, with the “moment” occurring at the 1:13 mark …

Whoa …

Obviously, Wilkes isn’t just a TV host – she’s also a candidate for South Carolina’s newly-drawn seventh congressional district, which makes any sort of ‘Basic Instinct’ moment involving her all the more newsworthy.

In fact, shortly after the clip hit YouTube several Pee Dee politicos forwarded us the link … ostensibly hoping to embarrass her.

“Viewers must assess for themselves whether and to what extent there was a ‘Basic Instinct’ moment,” Wilkes said in a statement provided to FITS. “In any case, I appreciate the careful attention to detail demonstrated by the show’s viewers.”

“My loyal viewers turn me on every Sunday, and I try my best to reciprocate,” Wilkes added.
