Nikki Haley’s Fibbing Again

After managing to go about two weeks without getting busted for lying (note we didn’t say she went two weeks “without lying”), S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley’s mini-streak has come to an end.

It’s not a big lie, mind you, but it is yet another example of Haley’s chronic inability to tell the truth on even the simplest, most innocent of questions.

Early Friday, FITS posted a story about Haley’s latest “economic development” deal with Nephron Pharmaceuticals – a company that is inexplicably promising to make a $313 million capital investment in Lexington County despite the fact that its annual profits are reportedly less than $20 million a year.

Hmmmm … and these guys are going to create 700 jobs? At $70,000 a pop? They must have quite the sweetheart deal lined up with state government or something (like the one they reportedly tried and failed to get out of the administration of former S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford).

Anyway, in our report we noted that “just last month Haley flew on a private jet owned by Nephron to attend a controversial fundraiser in Dallas, Texas. The company may have also provided Haley with air travel to meet U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio in Florida last year.”

Given the religious tabs that Haley’s administration keeps on this website – not to mention its efforts to root out anyone in state government who reads us – there’s no way this article escaped the governor’s notice.

Apparently, though, Haley thought no one would remember her September 2010 trip to meet with Rubio on Nephron’s corporate jet.

And so Haley told a local television station that she didn’t know Nephron’s owners prior to the 2010 election – but had gotten to know them very well after the election.

Oops …

Haley also neglected to mentioned that Lou Kennedy – wife of the company’s founder – gave her gubernatorial campaign $3,110 in campaign contributions in October 2010.

Double oops …

Haley has spent her first nine months in office tripping from one public relations disaster into the next, eroding her credibility with lie after lie (after lie after lie after lie after lie after lie after lie).

And just when we thought she might have kicked the habit … out comes another one.

Not a big deal. Come one. I was for Gresham Barrett. Still think he would be great, but common man. Haley is announcing big stuff. Keep it up Nikki.

Damn Folks, whatever Haley’s done to you has messed you up big-time. She’s got you blogging slanderously day and night now, even on a Friday night. Completely obsessed… it would be no surprise to find you in a tree directly outside the Governor’s mansion with a pair of binoculars and a bottle of KY. You’re so unhinged that you promised the world evidence you slept together that you knew didn’t exist and you could never produce. I guess hell really hath no fury like a woman scorned…

She simply is like a child looking at cookies. She cannot help herself. She will take and take and take.

Any honorable person would not accept any gift or contribution from a person or company while in negotiations.

She gives away tax payer dollars and gets personal reward. what a sham this woman is and I VOTED FOR HER!

Yes, the math doesn’t add up. As well as why we need to put up $3.5 million in incentives as taxpayers to get this firm here. We need jobs and in theory, I applaud Haley for bringing in jobs on her watch. But the amount of money our state is shelling out to attract them has to come home to roost at some time.

We need jobs. The governor can be a great asset.

She should not beg private jets and other gifts from people she is negotiating with, especially since it is OUR money she is giving away.

We could get those jobs without the governor taking the jet. The appearance is corrupt.

We need an honest government more than we need our government begging for free jet rides.

Nikki Haley, the Governor, is no different than Nikki Haley, the candidate. Unforunately, slightly more than 50% of the people who voted, voted for this self serving bitch!

Attending a function recently, had a conversation with some members of Mt. Horeb methodist Church, in Lexington. To a person none could remember our Governot (haley) gracing the doors, noe pews, since being elected. They feel the earlier attendaance and claims of converting to Christian Methodist faith, was nothing more than a ploy for election.
All felt her election, to the State’s highest office, was a terrible mistake. This was in Lexington, where she supposedly has a base and mass following and not even one of the 25-30 people there felt she was anything more than a con artist and fraud.
Frankly, I was astounded! I knew she was unpopular; but, not like the comments these good people openly expressed.

When I was a page in the state House of Representattives, I remember meeting old Sol Blatt and I recall his saying on WIS that the reason he lasted so long in politics is that he “never told a political lie.”

You cannot tell political lies and hope to get away with it.

ceilidh10, It was many moons ago when Sol Blatt said “You cannot tell political lies and hope to get away with it.”

Indeed, that was during the time of Walter Cronkite, Huntley-Brinkley and Howard K. Smith on CBS, NBC and ABC.

Before the world wide web, digital mobile phone-cameras, facebook, twitter, instant messaging, and digital TV with 500 international stations, blogs and web sites operated by transparency advocates like Will Folks (local) and Andy Borowitz (national), and TV/radio political comedians like Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, Lewis Black, Dennis Miller, Stephen Colbert — all specializing in the political lampoon.

Not just political lies, one can’t tell “travel” lies and get away with it.

    Witness Sanford before, Haley now.

She also did not know that Public Safety Interim Director F.K. Lancaster was being investigated before she appointed him to the interim position.

This silly/childish NON story was aired on WIS by an overexcited inexperienced Jody Barr and off course picked up by Will Folks’s non stop Haley slander machine.
First of all let me clarify what Haley said. She said that I did not know the Kennedy’s “that well” before the elections , but have now come to know them very well. Even if she used the corporate jet before election, it does not mean she knew them very well before elections. This minor little stuff has been blown out of proportion by a reporter looking for “scoop”

So what is the big deal?? so what if she used the corporate jet ? Dig up the record of ALL of our US senators and Congressman and you will see them using such privileges. Is it wrong, sure it should not happen, but why single out Haley only.
But in the midst of all this, the real story and Haley’s achievement about 300 million investment in Lexington county has been lost in the slander machine.
