Clemson University’s football program may be slipping, but that’s not putting a damper on the party up in Tigertown …
According to the September 2011 edition of Tailgater Monthly, Clemson ranks behind only Florida and Ole Miss when it comes to college football’s best tailgating destinations.
“Barbecue, fried chicken and boiled shrimp are common fare in the tailgating areas on campus, and thanks to its location in the foothills of the Appalachians, the scenery is spectacular,” the magazine notes.
What about the University of South Carolina? Well, for reasons surpassing understanding, the Gamecocks didn’t make the cut.
USC’s opponent on the gridiron this weekend – the University of Georgia – did make the list, though. In fact, the Bulldogs were one of eight Southeastern Conference schools to make the Top 20.
Clemson was the only ACC school on the list …
