We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again … when South Carolina’s “Republican-controlled” General Assembly and “Tea Party” governor manufacture nonexistent problems for the sole purpose of passing totally unnecessary, blatantly partisan legislation, bad things happen.
Expensive things …
Take South Carolina’s new voter ID law … which so far has produced nothing but a costly lawsuit and an even costlier taxpayer-funded carpool (all so that S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley could wipe the egg off of her face after making a brain-dead promise to drive disenfranchised voters to the S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles).
All of which has resulted in another national embarrassment …
Awesome, right?
And while we’re grateful that FITSNews got a plug in that MSNBC report, that’s not what we were looking for here …
We’re looking for leadership – the kind which Haley and GOP lawmakers are apparently incapable of providing. Seriously, lawmakers wouldn’t even vote on real reforms … spent days nitpicking over reforms in name only … but they found time to pass this nonsense?
No wonder this state is so screwed …
