South Carolina’s liberal (err, progressive) film-making gurus are at it again … rolling out their version of the “welcome mat” to yet another Republican presidential wanna-be.
This time it’s former Utah Governor (and former U.S. Ambassador) Jon Huntsman “getting the business.”
In an acknowledgment of Huntsman’s presumed electability in a race against U.S. President Barack Obama – which we’re not sure is either a unique attribute or something worth celebrating – members of the group SC Forward Progress have released a new “theatrical trailer” documenting Huntsman’s cozy relationship with the president.
In fact, the trailer even features a faux film review from FITS founding editor Sic Willie (a.k.a. Will Folks) – who describes the Obama-Huntsman bromance as “kinda creepy.”
Obviously much more damning is a dramatic reading of a letter that Huntsman wrote to Obama shortly after accepting his offer to serve as ambassador to China.
“You are a remarkable leader,” Huntsman’s letter to Obama proclaims.
Here’s the clip …
Frankly, we’re less considered with Huntsman’s political appointment to China and more concerned with his support of Obama’s “cap and trade” plan, the result of which would be a massive increase in domestic energy prices.
We’re also leery of any candidate who believed that Obama’s stimulus plan “wasn’t large enough,” or who slammed stimulus opponents for “gratuitous political griping.”
Of course in his defense he’s really no more or less pathetic than the rest of the 2012 GOP field – which includes flip-floppers like Mitt Romney, fiscal conservative sellouts like Newt Gingrich and fellow “green” Republicans like Tim Pawlenty.
And we like where Huntsman is at on parental choice and opposing ethanol subsidies.
Anyway, SC Forward Progress has previously “welcomed” Romney (video here) and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (video here). We obviously look forward to seeing more of their work …

Utah. That’s all I need to know. Harry’s Reid’s endorsement was just an additional nail in that coffin.

Why do these democrat skanks waste so much time in South Carolina? The democrat party is dead in this state, except in the pockets where ignorance and perpetual cycles of liberal-bred poverty reign.
And w/ Dirty Dick Harpootlian representing the collected braintrust of their party, I’m guessing the liberals’ wandering lost in the backwoods will make Moses’ l’ll trek look like a trip to the Circle-K.

Is there any way we can get these two on the same ticket? They can share campaign expenses and be friends with “benefits”.
Their new campaign slogan can be something along the lines of “Ebony and Ivory” and their theme song “Jungle Love”.
Wait….there’s a problem….Can Huntsman even support Obama given that Obama’s half black and therefore a sinner according to Mormon doctrine?
Oh well….that’s just a minor detail.

Big T:
I would wager those young fellas are attacking Romney and Huntsman because they are concerned they are the only GOP candidates who could actually win. It looks like they are attacking Palin and the Tea Partiers just for the fun of it. Not very sporting though – making fun of Palin and the Tea Partiers is shooting fish in a barrel.
And a question for you, Big T – who was the state Dem chair the last time they won the Governor’s mansion (defeating an incumbent who had left the reservation)? Little Dick Harpootlian. Now, a lot of people don’t like Dick. Fair enough. He can be a first class asshole. And a lot of being think Dick is dirty. I’d say he pushes the ethical envelope as far as he thinks he can get away with. But if you think Dick doesn’t know how to win (or that he isn’t cruising around with a 130+ IQ), then you don’t know nothin’ … Harpootlian is smart as hell and plays hardball well
Not sayin’ Darlin’ Nikki is a goner (yet), but she’s off to a start VERY reminiscient of Diamond Dave Beasley. And this much is clear – Dick Harpootlian is a whole lot smarter and yet somehow not as sleazy as the friggin’ AMWAY salesman the GOP decided to put in charge of the party. WTF was that all about anyway?

Crack, Video Poker, the Stars and Bars and the Moderate Stupidity of David Beasley won Hodges’ election. You’re not very well-versed in SC Politics if you are not aware of that.
Also: If Nutjob Liberal attacks are an indication of how scared the democrats are of a candidate, they must think Palin could be elected Queen of the World. They HATE HATE HATE her. Remember that Skank lovingly caressing the mic in Charleston, to try to measure up to Palin.
Also: Harpootlian is very entertaining. And not as boring and intelligence challenged and sycophantic as Fowler. But he has NO CHANCE of getting the Governor’s Mansion back. To win, his party has to totally dis-avow the party’s holy sacrements (aggressive abotion, affirmative action, Corporate Racial Hatred, Junk Science, Greed in education…etc…)

If Obama was a little lighter, those two could pass for brothers.

Could be that Huntsman is not running to be president in 2012 but in 2016. If this works, he will be Obama’s stalking horse and in the primary race just get some name recognition and peel off an ever-so-tiny amount of Romney’s support to keep Romney from the nomination.
That way Obama is re-elected (that is the hope of Huntsman and Obama) and Obama will help Huntsman get elected in 2016.
Trouble is, it won’t work.
I don’t see Huntsman ever getting ahead of Romney in the GOP primary. Like John Sununu, primary voters only support Republicans and Huntsman isn’t one.

huntsman is a dead ringer for colin cowherd that espn host.

One thing is for sure, Huntsman can’t attack Romney on his religion. He will have to tarnish him by bringing up how many people Romney put out of work as CEO of Bain. Imagine this, a person who made a fortune by putting people out of work, now wanting the American people to elect him president so he can put people back to work. Now that is what you call a flip flopper.
It will be interesting to see which opponent exploits this aspect of Romney’s career and what effect it will have on the voters. It does seem Romney’s company targeted weak companies, so they could further weaken the company putting it in the dirt and its workers out of a job, and then profit from the aftermath. I guess this is not something you would want to brag about too much, especially within the context of the unemployment problem facing the country right now.

Only about a year left until the blood bath. Obama will be taking scalps on this war party. Michele Bachmann?? Really?? Fucking hysterical.

Whoever said Huntsman is running for 2016 is right.
Off topic, but today Ron Paul introduced a bill to eliminate federal criminal penalties for marijuana. Go Ron!
