For those of you who missed the second Transformers flic, Revenge of the Fallen, it was quite simply the worst movie we’ve seen in the last five years.
We know, we know … it had Transformers, explosions and Megan Fox in it … what could possibly have gone wrong?
Well, the movie had no plot, an awful script and bad acting. Transformers and explosions are cool – but 150 minutes of Transformers exploding eventually gets really, really annoying. Especially when your realize that the movie isn’t taking you anywhere.
Anyway, Fox was canned from the third installment of the series – Dark of the Moon – although it was never made clear why she was let go. Oh, and Fox claims she wasn’t fired – according to her she left to “pursue other opportunities.”
Most people generally assumed Fox’s dismissal had something to do with her calling her director “Hitler,” and they were right … although director Michael Bay says that wasn’t his call.
In an interview in GQ, Bay says that Fox was fired at the request of the movie’s executive producer, Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg.
“You know the Hitler thing. Steven (Spielberg) said, ‘fire her right now,’” Bay said.
Fox, who has had trouble landing work since making the comment (wonder why), was replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
