We’ve got a lot of favorite bands … bands a lot of people have heard of (Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, R.E.M. and U2) and bands that not as many people have heard of (Afghan Whigs, Luna, The National and Pavement).
Radiohead probably falls into the “a lot of people have heard of” category, although the band’s ongoing experimentation has probably cost them some intellectually-incurious fans.
