WILLIAM R. FOLKS III

For Immediate Release
October 12, 2010

Following through on his public statement from two weeks ago, Will Folks – founding editor of FITSNews.com and President and Chief Executive Officer of Viewpolitik, LLC – today responded to a request from the group S.C. Conservatives for Truth in Politics (TIP) by providing a signed, sworn affidavit attesting to a sampling of details from his relationship with GOP gubernatorial nominee Nikki Haley.

“This particular affidavit was prepared in response to a specific request from a political organization,” Folks said. “By no means does it represent the extent of what I know, what I have documented or what will ultimately be released.”

Below is the letter that Folks sent to former SCGOP First Vice Chairman Cyndi Mosteller, the leader of TIP.

October 12, 2010
via electronic mail

Ms. Mosteller,

I am in receipt of your letter dated October 4, 2010 and your subsequent email dated October 7, 2010 (included below this correspondence) and have recently had the opportunity to discuss both communications with my attorneys.

While at this time I am respectfully declining to “make public any additional pertinent information” regarding my prior relationship with Rep. Nikki Haley, I have determined that your request for the production of a “signed and sworn affidavit” attesting to the veracity of my previous public comments is reasonable.

Although my public comments were made under duress, they were truthful. Accordingly, I have no compunction whatsoever in affixing my signature to their veracity having been duly sworn by a person directed or permitted by law to administer such an oath. In fact, if you would like to inform me of a time in the future when you might be available to collect a copy of this affidavit personally, I will make it available to you at the appointed time.

As you may know, I have documented via the release of independently-confirmed text messages my reasons for acknowledging the truth about my relationship with Rep. Haley.

As these messages prove, I did not ask for this scandal. When it arrived on my doorstep, however, I acted in a manner that I believed to be in the best interest of my family. I will continue to make decisions on that basis moving forward.

I will also continue to tell the truth.

Sincerely,

-W

Will Folks

Quite a lot of hearsay in the affidavit, and there are good reasons hearsay is not admissible in court.

Another in a series of desperate attempts by Sic Folks to gain publicity and inject his baseless smears and lies in the Governor’s race. Any one with an iota of commonsense now fully understands the insidious low life game that he is playing. But no matter how much the ole boys network and its self appointed leader Mosteller may try, the decent people of SC can see through this dirty game and will handily reject them.

In spite of MANY MANY requests to Mosteller of so called “Truth” in politics, she has personally refused to give an affidavit that she has been truthful in her political and personal life. Clearly she has some thing to hide. Her hypocrisy is astounding. Mosteller accusing anyone of not telling the truth, is like the pot calling the the kettle black.

Similarly here is a challenge to Will Folks. Give us an affidavit that you have never lied in life and disclose all sources of your income.

    Gary,

With all due respect, what does your request of Will to give you an affidavit that says he’s never lied in life and disclose all sources of his income have to do with the price of tea in China?

He provided an affidavit, with IMO too much information, my goodness I do not need to know they slid seats back so she could mount him.

Which presumably is admissable in a court of law. Detailing their sordid affair.

I’d like to know Gary, have you ever lied in your life? I’m sure the answer if you asked a room of 100 ppl, 100 ppl would say yes. Not that makes it right or anything, but come on dude. Lets be realistic here.

I hate that he had an affair with a married woman, shame on him, but Haley is obviously lying and lacks a ton of integrity to put her family through this for the sake of a political career. Kudos to Will for keeping it real.

    Dear Pricy Flak

    >> i would like to know Gary, have you ever lied in your life?I’m sure the answer if you asked a room of 100 ppl, 100 ppl would say yes. Not that makes it right or anything, but come on dude. Lets be realistic here<<

That is the point. Before we throw stones on others, (almost every day) let us look ourselves in the mirror. Am I perfect? hell no.

No human being is perfect and it is only Lord almighty who supreme and ideal. My principal in life is that I am not good enough – while no one else is bad ( unless they prove otherwise)

There is always some quality even in the worst amongst us. And today when I have harshly criticized Will Folks for his continuous Jihad against Haley, I have no hesitation in repeating that he is talented. I have no problem in repeating that he has been fair and bold to publish many nasty things that are said about him.

Amen Gary, you’ll get no argument here. Your mantra is spot on.

But I don’t see how you can repeatedly go after Will when you should be going after Haley. It’s obvious she’s not been truthful to her constituents, to her family, to many people who have supported her. It’s a terrible thing to intentionally deceive people for personal or professional gain. She’s deceiving you and a whole hell of a lot of other people. And yet, you, along with several of my friends, support this person, whom you know to be intentionally deceitful.

There was a time at the beginning of all of this where I would have said, regardless, I’m supporting Nikki. But today, I say go with the guy with the most integrity. Crazy a trial lawyer is looking pretty good right now.

But I’m with you, the good old boys have got to go, and who should throw stones… Maybe in four years the GOP can nominate a limited gov’t, fiscal conservative, who won’t lie to the people.

According to this here affidavit, Rep. Nikki Haley liked to get it on in her Cadillac Ejaculade.

    That is one classy woman.

    Pricey Flak,

I do not buy Will’s story and believe that it may have been more like a friendship rather than romance. We can develop friendship and fondness for others even if married. I must also blame Haley for being naive and trusting, since she could not see through the kind of man she was dealing with. But she must be given credit now for showing enormous strength, decency and class in the face of despicable smears by a very well organized and financed gang of good ole boys.

But for the sake of argument ( again it is purely for discussion purposes only and in no way do i believe any of the accusations.) if some thing did happen, why would any body who has an iota of integrity and decency and regard for a friend go around the world with a blow horn announcing every single day, which should have been purely a private affair. This is called betrayal, treachery and in this case it is pretty much blackmail and extortion. Will is running a relentless Jihad to destroy Haley for personal publicity and monetary gain- no matter what the consequences for any one else.

It is a very ruthless, selfish and downright mean game. Again I totally do not buy that he was pressured in to disclosing this made up nonsense. Men of character, integrity and self respect will rather die than betray -no matter what the consequences.

I hope he comes down from his high horse, eschews his false pride and greed, realizes his blunder even at this late stage and asks for forgiveness from Haley. His locker room fantasies have caused enough havoc already. The guy has talent and could use it for positive and productive uses.

every time Haley starts dropping in the polls–this Fits guy comes out with more affair talk. Everyone knows that the teabagger folks and palin get off on playing the victim card and this will only boost her numbers on the GOP side. It is so interesting how backward you SC folks are.

Folks reminds me of guys I knew in high school (about a hundred years ago) who constantly bragged about romantic conquests (whether real or IMAGINED). I consider Folks “ethically challenged” as I did those high school aquaintences. Well actually back then, way before the PC era, I hadn’t heard the term “ethically challenged”, so I just considered them dumb assed loudmouths.

If Will lied in a sworn statement, then he could get into a LOT of trouble. He could even face a slander per se civil suit. I think he is well-aware of the consequences, and I’m certain he would not take that chance.

    @ Countryboy

Almost left that that first “o” out of your name, homey. Ooops! (*laughing*)

Anyway, CB, you wrote the following:

“. . .so, I just considered them dumb assed [sic] loudmouths.”

Doesn’t mean that they weren’t telling the truth, does it, dumbass?! (Use your best Red Forman voice when you say that, big fella)

I’ve been telling you from the outset that the manner in which Will Folks was presenting all of this underscored the fact that he was telling the truth about Nikki Haley. He has done it all slowly enough to give Haley the opportunity to come clean on her own, an opportunity graciously offered, but not embraced.

The steady drumbeat continues. And it can only end badly for Nikki Haley. Better she come clean now, then wait for Will Folks to reveal the unambiguous proof he most certainly has that she has been lying to the South Carolina electorate, and her husband, all along.

“Good night, Gracie, uh, I mean countryboy [you, too, Gary]“.

Will: you’re so full of shit. If your only motivation was to protect your family then you’ve already done that. So it’s obvious that your real motivation is simply to take this girl down and perhaps show off your political influence over SC politics. Both candidates suck so baring a better choice, wouldn’t you rather have Haley as Gov. over Sheheen?

I apologize; my statement was unclear. The e-mail to TIP is not hearsay; affiant’s statement is. However, since it is not being submitted in a legal proceeding, it is moot.

point I see is that there is that this is specifically addressed to show there are much more than just passing thoughts of detail.

Will’s put his neck on the table AGAIN, and they can’t touch him, because their candidate hasn’t responded. The same backlash is likely far from the intensity on May 27th, and unfortunately, Haley’s worst nightmare.

Address the issue, clear the record, or sue. That’s all that’s left now.

Zuma – I don’t believe the allegations against Haley by Folks, however, if they were true it would not change my vote against every democrat running this time and especially a crooked trial lawyer.

I would think less of her for her poor choice of lovers, if it were true, but other than that, her sex life is not my business or anyone else’s. I can’t understand what Folks motive is, other than money from She-heen to bring down Haley, or his wife is forcing him to do it…

If to(xic) willie is telling the truth, it will be a rare event.

But it will also mean Trikki Nikki is toast.

Burnt toast. No racist pun intended.

We leave racist puns to to(xic) willie.

    And, his alter ego; bull-crap-teabugger.

    BTW, where is teabugger?

Howie must have cut his allowance.

    Trikki Nikki is toast.

    Sanfraud’s toast.

    T-Rav is toast.

Howie the Voucher Clown is toast.

No matter what the outcome of to(xic) willie’s sex allegations, he’s toast. What a sc@m bag!!

Statements about what people did or what the affiant perceived are not hearsay.

Statements about what somebody other than the affiant said are hearsay.

Just because it is hearsay doesn’t mean it wasn’t said, it just means that it might not be admissible in court. Contrary to common belief, there are a lot of exceptions to the hearsay rule. In a dispute between two people, one person’s statement about what the other person said is generally admissible.

The affidavit sets out a lot of facts that should be verifiable, as Will has said all along. Ms. Haley is free to dispute his statements, if she dares.
