Stimulating African “Junk Washing”
We knew that the so-called federal “stimulus” was paying for all sorts of junk … we just had no idea it was paying for men in other countries to wash their “junk.”
“We propose to evaluate the feasibility of a post-coital genital hygiene study among men unwilling to be circumcised in Orange Farm, South Africa,” reads a grant proposal submitted to the National Institute of Health (NIH) by a team of researchers at UCLA.
Amazingly, this “post-coital genital hygiene” study received – and spent – $823,200 of “stimulus” funds in 2009, according to CNS News.
That’s right … nearly $1 million of your tax dollars went to a study designed to teach uncircumcised African men the proper “after-sex genitalia-washing regimen.”
Obviously, this isn’t as fiscally reckless as blowing billions of “stimulus” funds on so-called “Green Jobs” for other countries, but it’s yet another example of why this big government boondoggle failed so miserably.
