Was David Grohl a better songwriter than Kurt Cobain?

We’ll leave that argument for the critics (we say “yes”), but there’s no doubt that his band Foo Fighters emerged from the ashes of Nirvana as one of rock-n-roll’s most potent forces.

Hell … half of the Foo Fighters’ studio albums won Grammys, people … which is something not a lot of acts can say.

Anyway, here’s our favorite song off their second album, The Colour and the Shape (released in 1997).

Enjoy …

FOO FIGHTERS: “MY HERO”

Too alarming now to talk about
Take your pictures down and shake it out
Truth or consequence say it aloud
Use that evidence race it around

There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goesmy hero
He’s ordinary

Don’t the best of them bleed it out
While the rest of them peter out
Truth or consequence say it aloud
Use that evidence race it around

There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He’s ordinary

Kudos my hero
Leaving all the best
You know my hero
The one that’s on

There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He’s ordinary

There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He’s ordinary
