In news that Beavis and Butthead would appreciate, S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford is paying a visit to a Pageland, S.C. company called “Screwmatics” on Thursday.
Wait … is this an Argentine company?
And is his Latin lover Maria Belen Chapur joining him on the trip?
Because there’s just something about this visit that conjures up images of tan lines, soul mates and additional national embarrassment for the Palmetto state.
According to the governor’s media advisory, Screwmatics is “a 20-year-old Chesterfield County business that produces small parts for manufacturers and employs over 60 people.”
Small parts … hmmmm. “That’s what she said,” right Mark?
Anyway, no word yet on whether Sanford has another “hike along the Appalachian Trail” planned for after his visit.

Two years ago I was thrilled to be invited to a cocktail party attended by Mark Sanford.
Today I wouldn’t be caught in the same room with the jerk.
What a disgrace.
I was WONDERING why Bob Faith resigned from the Commerce Dept. after one term.
Sanford has nothing left to do this year except light the Christmas tree in December.
And make visits like this.

I am the son of the owner of Screwmatics. Yes that is our company name. We machine parts with screw machines. He is visiting to congratulate our company on all the jobs we have created in the area.

Back when all the other industrial parking lots were empty, Screwmatics parking lot was full. It made me feel good when I rode by and saw all the cars – it gave me hope. Ya’ll keep up the good work.
