There’s been plenty of chatter in the Palmetto political blogosphere (and in the legacy media) about S.C. Rep. Nikki Haley’s belated, highly-controlled release of recent, select emails from one of her taxpayer-funded email accounts on Friday.
To read a recap of that story, click here.
Haley backers claim she’s been transparent, and that her disclosure should put to bed (sorry, bad pun) persistent speculation about as-yet-unproven affair allegations. Critics (including Haley’s opponent in the November gubernatorial race, S.C. Sen. Vincent Sheheen) say that Haley is hiding something … and in the process is failing to live up to her rhetoric on the issue of government transparency.
Now it’s your turn to sound off …

Not to mention Eckstrom and Payne and the relationship they’ve had. This GOP ticket sure is transparent?
By gov worker August 23, 2010 at 2:01 pm
It was neither. And that is not the kind of government transparency we want anyway. Who cares who she sent love emails to 3 years ago? Government transparency is about voting records, not skeletons in the closet.

The unshared emails and hard drives obviously reveal something that Haley and her campaign don’t want voters to know. Otherwise they wouldn’t have taken the controversial path of hiding emails and hard drives as they have. The problem is unlikely to be an affair — those reports are old history — but has to be something (or multiple things) that Haley would expect her voting base to dislike so much that voters would reject her. There are very few areas in which I would trust Haley’s judgement, but on this I’ll take her word for it. There is something very ugly in those hidden records.

The only thing transparent about this devious, shifty-eyed, trailer-park snake-charmer is her desire for dick.

So Haley cannot make good personal, financial, or political decisions. What she has shown us would not make for a good wife, accountant, or governor. What might Nikki be good at? Maybe acting? You tell me what Nikki should do when she grows up.

Again a totally bogus story being repeated again and again by Will Folks to keep himself in the news while the world has moved on.
Nikki Haley is no more the issue. The issue is YOU MR. FOLKS who keeps bringing up her name and any innocuous or made up news about her to drive traffic to your web site and post under multiple IDs to trash talk about her.
The game is over and you are advised to move on too. Look for some productive and honest ways to earn your money. Get of your obsessive addictions because Slanderer is not appreciated in the Lord’s court.

Gary, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I believe Will Folks speaks the truth, as well as Larry Marchant, and Thad “no comment” Viers. Sanford is still in the running, from what I am heading. Haley has brought most of this upon herself. I feel that if she is touting transparency and accountability, but cannot practice what she preaches, the taxpayers have right to know. I, for one, applaud Will Folks and FitNews. Job well done!

The “affairs” were not 3 years ago, only. And a lot of people care. We do not care who she sleeps with as long as she isn’t lying about it, and running for office on the issues she is obviously not living up to. The entire package is what we are angry about. She talks out of both sides of her mouth. She says one thing and does another. And, really, I do care about the probable affairs, as she denies them, and blames the guys for lying about her. And she makes her poor husband stand there like an idiot. I care about that kind of behavior. It is not professional, ethical, or honorable. Is that who we want as Governor–again?
By Scooter August 23, 2010 at 8:43 pm
A word to Gary: Slander? I think not, but what about sleeping around on your husband? What about lying? Cheating, manipulation? Think God likes those things? If Will is lying, and I think he is telling the truth, he will answer for that. But Haley has to answer for her actions as well.

Gary, I’m willing to let you Shi’ite Baptists — or whatever the fuck backward sect of praying zombies owns your intellectually-stunted ass — inform us as to what the Tooth Fairy appreciates on any given day of the year.
‘Cause it’s funny.

It’s not transparency. It’s milky white and sticky.
I knew this girl named Nikki, you could say she was a?
By conservative August 24, 2010 at 10:33 am
I don’t know if Nikki is a zombie or not. Her sister is way out there…you know talking to the universe and chanting and seeing numbers in the sky. Google nikki haley black sheep and read about her sister, Simran Singh. The last part of the article is the best.

I think Nikki is just like John Edwards, except he’s prettier. His future could have been great. He cheated, then lied about cheating. His career is toast. These politicians, like Haley and Edwards, in their quest for power, lose their morals and integrity.
